Emily is just the greatest episode of the whole series in my opinion. The scenes with Frank and Emily are just pure emotional damage, and we also get more of why Frank is the way he is than we have all series so far. And Mickey's coming out? Exceptional.

mickey and ians story is definitely my favorite. they go through so much stuff together and ians story gets way more insane this season/next one. when mickey came out i physically screamed because some people dont understand how hard it is to physically say the words. and theres no way that mickey would have come out if he didnt care so deeply for ian. i just love them hahaha. love your reactions and very excited for more heartstopper! much love

The scene where Frank is thinking he's repenting to Fiona hits deep because despite he a known asshole, it gives him a moment where we watch him open up and we don't have to hate him for awhile.

Frank’s storyline really can bring the emotions out of you. It’s so conflicting because as you watch you see such small parts of him that could’ve been sooo much bigger. And in many ways he reminds me of the best of Lip. I feel like he’s aware of his actions and he regrets them. He just never had the ability to to do better or to actually take a step in the right direction. In some ways I relate to him…. I cried for him more than once.
@laurab118910 ай бұрын
Oh my goodness these episodes! This whole season really does just take you on a rollercoaster, and on the rewatch is a pretty good set up for season 5! Mickey’s coming out always makes me tear up, this is a huge step in his journey and out of all the characters he does feel like the one I was rooting for to be happy. With Terry in jail now he can finally breathe, and those little moments of reprieve for him are so lovely, and Ian being right there beside him with whatever is going on with him is so important too. Lip really did step up to help Fiona here. I think at his core he really is a good guy, but I keep reminding myself he really is just a kid and all of this got lumped on him in one hit, on top of adjusting to college and the fear for Liam’s life. I think he was valid in reacting the way he did initially, but the turn around is a true testament to his character. Thank you so much for these reactions, I can’t wait to jump onto Patreon a soon as I can make it work financially.

Im quite sure frank's mom used to SA him, based on these little moments over the series. When Peggy (his mom) comes back from prison in S2, he wets the bed which is a huge trauma response from childhood SA victims. I really which they made a spin off of Franks life before the kids.

I haven’t heard anyone explain “maintaining college” before vs getting into college/being in college. I feel so connected to that wording. I was in and out of college 3 times (in the span of 2-3 years) I was always a “bright” kid but no one expected the anxiety disorder I developed at the end of high school. I could do the work but maintaining everything was definitely not in my wheelhouse.

The Mickey coming out scene was a long time coming. They have spent the last 3 seasons in secret. It was "shit or get off the pot" time.

That scene with the little girl and Frank breaks me. She has so much empathy for such a tiny person. My mom is a lot like Frank, down to leaving her kids alone in a park. This show is so damn cathartic sometimes.
@serenitytoepper10 ай бұрын
Now that sweet moment when frank is in the hospital, he mistakes Emily for Fiona but in a moment even through all of it, underneath it all you see that he does have a love for her. He felt something there. I teared up a bit from that scene and when she dies how affected Frank was by it.

Unpopular opinion: the coming out scene, though acted beautifully, is not a moment of triumph for Mickey, and actually really hard to watch. Ian forced him to come out, he left him no choice, and did so in a cruel way, at that, weaponizing his trauma to get what he wanted. I love the cop moment, and Terry getting beaten and going to prison, (and also the the unscripted head kiss, did you know that was unscripted, ahhh) but look into poor Mickey’s eyes afterward. Does that look like freedom and relief to you? Looks defeated to me. (And shit, the quiver in his voice on ‘you happy now?’ just kills me hbcgjjjb how could anyone say Ian was in the right.) Everyone deserves to come out when they feel safe and ready, already unlikely conditions in the south side, *impossible* in the Milkovich family. Ian could have left for his own sake, without manipulating Mickey at a time when Ian was basically all he had. And sure, there’s some dependency issues there, no one said either of them are perfect. Anyways, please feel free to ignore this rant, I’m not trying to argue anyone out of their feelings about the scene, or at all, I just feel very strongly about it, and rarely, if ever, see anyone holding a similar perspective. Just had to get that out

Lips got a point what hasn't she done this month is like Fiona, she has been spinning out of control. She is pulling a Frank and a Monica move right now by pulling all of that. I can't blame him for being mad at her. Debby isn't wrong exactly either. but then end of the day, Lip and Fiona are kind of like the mom and Dad who try to take care of these kids but just doing it all in the wrong way.
@maggierappa4178 ай бұрын
And in lips defense he doesn’t have time to always know where Fiona is, especially considering she’s an adult. He has 4 other family members to keep track of and keep in line. Debbie did end up being right, but if I had to pick a side without hindsight, it would be lip

8:12 I mean... that's the whole point of Debbie. She's expected to be an adult and then berated when she makes adult choices and mistakes and wants to be seen as an adult, bc that's what she's been for most of her life anyway. I really dislike the shameless fans who hate debbie simply for making these choices and mistakes. It's very clear where it comes from and why she's doing it. Just like Fiono selfdistructs and Lip gets incredibly mad sometimes. Debbie just wants to be seen as an adult and be loved and be needed. It's really sad for a young girl to have to feel like that ❤ (that doesn't mean I condone her actions, but I definately see where they're coming from)
