Great video! Just like your courses, discussing something and then showing examples from actual rolls is an excellent approach.

Great video, love your back videos. Speaking of that, we would really appreciate if you could show a back attack system (like you did) but for gi BJJ. Because when you got the back you shouldn't lose it and I lose it way too much (and I'm sure i'm not the only one lol)

Make a video on k guard!!

Another thing I noticed that I think will help me: You are positioned higher up on the back then I am. I think I have been lower because I need to keep my hooks in. This makes it much harder to transition to arm bars, secure an arm with a straight jacket and so on. Any notes on this?

Day 1 of asking for bjj for mma. Plz jordann
@JordanTeachesJiujitsuАй бұрын
The problem is not many people will watch it lol. There's way more BJJ practitioners out there than MMA fighters. Not that it's all about views but I also can't put time and effort into something with such a small audience. Hope you understand :)
@boss133749Ай бұрын
I enjoy watching mma. Especially for the bjj analysis, but it isn’t something that I have interest in doing. I’m pushing 40. I do bjj for flexibility, remaining active, and the chess game. I have zero interest in hitting or getting hit.
@JN-L97Ай бұрын
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu I think if it was framed more as “does bjj work in mma/ufc?” that could get views. There are loads of shorts/memes of the Dagestani ufc fighters poking fun at bjj so riding off imo would get an audience
@devinotero1798Ай бұрын
@@JN-L97 i agree even trying a short and seeing how popular it gets

I thought the notification said tips for black belts. Didn't watch it before class and just lost back control. No joke.
@stevencunden7977Ай бұрын
What’s your counter to people bridging into you and putting your shoulders to the mat? What ive been taught is to use your hooks and extend their legs, taking away their base and bridge like you did quickly in the video, but as soon as i put my hooks back, they bridge again and i find myself fighting this battle over and over
@LuukBillyАй бұрын
wow its the first video where I already knew and practice all of the tips! Yiiihaa all the training finally starts to pay off :) Still a 4 stripe white belt though :D

Interesting video. Question: I never thought I would find tip no. 7 on your video. I often, since years, Smash the guy's face when I'm being hooked, which means most students who take my back, end up me squashing their chest and faces, and they have to let go of the back mount. Could you elaborate on what else the guy being back mount can do ?
@JordanTeachesJiujitsuАй бұрын
@@tededo ya it's actually super under utilized and talked about. Makes it so hard to get offense going. It's moreso good for defense and wearing your opponent out than it is for escaping.
