I love Hell House LLC too! I actually like the trilogy, although I'm an odd one an like 2 better than 3. The ending of 3 was just is a bit weird for me. The first time I saw Hell House LLC I was so freaked out and I remembered the movie but couldn't find it anywhere for a couple years and no one knew what I was talking about. I've made everyone I know watch it with me. The scene with Paul under the covers makes my heart pound and when Sarah is downstairs talking to the wall is so freaky. If you haven't seen 2 (gives a lot of history) and 3 you should watch. Cognetti was really dedicated to the trilogy because in 2 there are hints that show who will be the guests in 3, you just need to watch and pay attention.

Savageland is one of the best found footage horror films I've ever seen. Super creative and atmospheric, it has a less is more approach to scares but is also very poignant and truly evokes the tone of the original night of the living dead. Also, pretty much any film directed by Koji Shiraishi is guaranteed to be a banger. He is one of the masters of the found footage genre and even outside of his most famous film Noroi: the curse he has a bunch of great spooky movies- I highly recommend Occult

Horror in the high desert is so well made and it’s so good and to say it’s boring wasn’t really a great description of the film. The actors and filmmaker did such an amazing job capturing the realism behind creating a documentary and the actors and actresses were so amazing you would never have thought this wasn’t a mockumentary until the end. Just think you should have gave it a little better of a praise for how well made it was for what it was.

While inside the cop watches vhs recordings, so it's an anthology with the wraparound story like walking through a Halloween haunt.

If you've never seen it, check out the Korean movie R-Point. A group of Korean soldiers disappears during the Vietnam war. Six months later their HQ starts getting radio calls from them, so another team is sent out to find the survivors. It's not found footage, but it's probably one of my favorite horror movies ever. The Koreans are really good at horror. Side note: while not super scary, the Korean movie Hansel and Gretel is unsettling and weird. Also recommend.

It's cool that you are from New England and love one filmed in NE, I'm literally from Ellicott City, MD where the movie Butterfly Kisses was filmed. Though I have to say, EC is a very small town & the people they had as locals were most likely not from EC with the exception of one or two lol. I have been in Patapsco park many many times and that tunnel is super creepy even during the day. Also, our town is plagued with tons of ghosts, ghost stories, floods, fires and is generally haunted anyway so I am surprised more movies aren't shot in this area. In addition to the fires and floods we actually had something super scary happen a few years ago where two girls were posting pics on social media up on the train tracks and were killed by a freak train accident may they rest in peace. Loved this one.Great picks!

When I was a teenager some friends of mine made the trip up to the abandoned Pennhurst asylum. It was only about an hour north of us. This was before it became a haunted attraction. They broke in and took a few pictures. I had to work so I didn't go, but I'm glad, my one buddy came back convinced he saw things. He would show us the pictures he took but no one could see what he was talking about. True story.
