For the Star Wars quilt it would be cool to have the words bigger on the bottom and get smaller towards the top like the movie intro! I want to make my hubby a Polaroid quilt using photos he has taken over the years. Tall Tales is also on my wish list.

@PinCutSew maybe print the words starting at 10ish" (or larger depending on how many rows you need) for the largest letters, and decrease in size by 1/2 to 3/4" each time? Not sure you'd want to fiddle with anything smaller than 4"?

They are in my "to be read" pile. I just received the "Sewing Chicken" sticker and put it on my sewing machine! I love your channel and get so much inspiration from you. Hi Nikki. I love love love your channel so much. I am a new subscriber and a sort of new beginner sewer. I grew up sewing with my mom who was a professional seamstress. And I’ve been away from it for the last 27 years raising my family and finally have a sewing machine again and I’m so excited. I was wondering if you could make a different tutorial about your Bible cover but change the Bible cover to have a zipper closure as well as the handles. I like to keep prayer cards and other special things in my Bible and I don’t want them to fall out. I recently found some beautiful religious fabric online that I just purchased and I think will make a beautiful Bible cover. If you make the new Bible cover tutorial, I will send you a photo of my Bible cover when I finish it. Thanks your channel is my new happy place. Lots of love to you and your beautiful family.

I love these ideas! I think the 12 Days of Christmas one is my favorite. I’m anxious to see how you do it. I’ve only made a few simple quilts in the past, all made of 5” squares. They were mostly hit or miss, but the recipients were happy, and that’s what matters. I really want to learn how to quilt the correct way, because I want to make each of my grandchildren a quilt for high school graduation. The oldest is only 10, so I have plenty of time to learn! Thank you so much for all your inspiration!

You made me laugh when you stopped talking to watch the squirrels. This happens to me with quilt projects. I'm going gangbusters on one and all of a sudden "squirrel!" And off I go starting another project. 😅 Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter has some more modern but traditional/country patterns. Her blog is pretty great as well. Her Crastsman pattern is in my queue. I am working on several things at once as usual. My problem is I am an art quilter with a still vibrant passion for making bed quilts. Unfortunately, my husband has dementia and is demanding more and more of my time so quilting is limited. But I still try to sew or do something sewing related every day just to stay sane! I love your channel and your fish quilt 😊

Hi. I just started to learn how to quilt this summer. You inspired me to try, with your simple squares gingham baby quilt video and pattern. I enlarged the squares to make my great nephew a Mandalorian Star Wars fabric quilt. It was so fun and fast. I did simple machine quilting in a grid and even finished it!! LOL I have also made three baby quilts and gifted them. And, I've finished a quilt top for my oldest great niece in Scooby Doo fabric and plans for one for my younger great niece in three colors of shoe printed fabric. Apparently, she's only two, but she wants to try on every shoe and always wants to go shoe shopping. Those are all with your gingham quilt pattern, which is great. Future quilt plans are for: a gnome quilt (cheater with gnome printed seasonal fabrics) with six or so Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall gnome fabric squares in each quadrant and mushroom fabric backing, which I hope to attempt with a quilt-as-you-go method. I also have fabric I bought to make my niece a quilt in purple, surrounding a pretty owl panel I have. And, then there is the coffee theme fabrics for a small coffee quilt. I've not ventured yet into the realm of anything other than squares, so, wish me luck. I saw a tutorial on Missouri Star Quilts that was really pretty using a layer cake, so keeping my eyes out for a layer cake I like. I think I'm hooked, but machine quilting other than a grid will be a challenge I need to conquer, unless I can master quilt-as-you-go. I'd love to attempt a wonky house improve quilt some day and am collecting fabric for that. I loved yours so much! I don't know how to FPP, so looking forward to your videos on that.

The next one I want to do is a Trip Around the World the Eleanor Burns Way. I’d like to do a bargello quilt. I am like you FPP is my pallet cleanser. I really like to make tiny houses on my list is improv. I always loved your show. I don’t have anything to add because I’m still newish and I’m like you I get bored if it’s the same block over and over in regards to the Hawaiian quilts, yiu can applique by machine. Love watching all your videos. I also have a list of quilts that I want to make. Currently working on 3 quilt tops amongst about 5 other sewing projects (you know you need a break from working on the quilt sometimes). Two of the quilt tops are free patterns from Tilda (check out her patterns and fabric!)the Hen House quilt and the Windy Days quilt. I’m doing the girls dresses in Halloween fabrics for the Windy Days quilt and am going to try cats and pumpkins instead of the dogs. You’re inspiring with your improv quilts and it just might get me to work on one that has been on my mind for a few years now. Keep up the great work!

I enjoyed listening to your quilt plans Nikki. I love doing improv and these days it fits just perfectly. I'm planning a different variety of string quilts. For a long time when I've made a quilt I use a lot of different colors. It's difficult for me to work with only two colors in a quilt because it starts to feel tedious quickly. However I do like the end result. So I will be adding two color quilts and string quilts to my list. f I get bored with two colors I'll start a 2nd and rotate back and forth. I'm looking forward to seeing what you end up doing for your husband's quilt. Your Christmas quilt idea sounds interesting. I might make a Christmas quilt sometime, maybe.

Hi Nikki :) I adore your channel. Your list sounds fun! For your Polaroid quilt, what if you used *actual family photos and copied them onto the printable cotton fabric sheets that go thru ink jet printers? (Side note: I have an original, first generation Polaroid camera from the '40s. Such fun!) For a college quilt for one of my [animal-loving] daughters, I used those sheets to print favorite photos of the pets she'd had through her life (dogs, cats, and chickens). I also used a variety of "wood grain" fabrics and "framed" the pets (mitered corners on the frames, of course ;) and placed them randomly on the quilt top. She graduated college 8 years ago, most of those pets are gone now, and she still sleeps with that quilt on her bed. 💕

Paper piecing is not my thing. Your improv quilt gave me the courage to go off script and do my own thing. Thanks to health issues I have a hard time doing quilty things. I can no longer sew accurate seams, chain piece for hours etc… Even your improv is neat and precise. I can’t be that anymore. In the second viewing I realized that the reason I liked your quilt so much is that it’s balanced. I decided that as long as I can give the appearance of balance then the rest doesn’t matter. That was so freeing and I have made several now that incorporated my less than perfect blocks and mixed in other things to bring the balance. Thanks again. I’m chatty today. I came back to say try the KZbin channel Tiny Blossom Quilts. Search for How to Resize Quilts. It’s really how to do quilt math! Maybe 3 years back Megan did that video. It’s not a long video but the first three minutes cover soft ware. Then she starts talking about how to resize up or down using paper and pencil. It will help you. ❤️ correction: Tiny Orchard Quilts

This comment isn’t about quilts! Have you read The Bibliophile Mysteries by Kate Carlisle? The main character restores rare books and regularly ends up in the middle of mysterious murders. There are 17 books in the series at this point! I also want to say I love your quilts and enjoy your videos.

Or, you could, I don't know, maybe put pictures printed on fabric for the photo quilt? Maybe favorite people, or places, or objects, you know, the list is endless.🤔

Uh, no need to defend yourself. I have 3 quilts on my bed. 9 unfinished quilt tops. 5 more finished quilts in a box next to my desk. So, yeah, it's o.k. Oh yeah, and 3 hanging in my closet. I live alone. I quilt. As far as qults I want to make, I have always wanted to make a kaleidoscope quilt but have not spent the money on a template.
