Dudes in story 5 were amateurs 😅 only 2 rounds of buckshot and they only took an AR & 9MM into the woods with them 🤦🏻‍♂️ if your gonna defend against animals or worse.. you want something more powerful than a AR-15 or 9mm to bring something big down.. the 12 gauge with slugs would have worked or maybe a 308 45-70 10mm 357 mag etc.. those are my preferred woods calibers because they have way more penetration and stopping power than 9mm and 556 those 2 are the bare minimum that you want to protect yourself against people and animals like bears and they might just piss a bear off.. a 12 gauge slug a 45-70 or a 308 can take down anything in north America though and for a pistol 357 mag & 10mm really hit the sweet spot between power and shootability

Definitely need watch out for giant turkey's that hate to lose at staring contests. No need to worry about a pack of wolves that are super slow, have no sense of smell and obviously have a fear of caves.
