Tim is one of my favorite teachers of all times! Such a good teaching. I always have to tell people it’s not fruits it’s fruit. We have to co-labor in the gardening. Jesus miraculously cultivates the spiritual fruit in the same way he miraculously cultivates material fruit, by his power alone.

@Valensky - Surprisingly, his theological understanding is VERY parallel in many ways to that of the Eastern Orthodox Church! The Orthodox Church has taught the same message since the days of the Apostles and early Church Fathers. If you haven't found a church yet (I know it's been 3 years already), you might consider visiting an Orthodox Church.

Imitate our brother-Tim…the wisdom and insight that he shares comes from HIS deep commitment to tend his garden and deal with the predators! He is preaching what he obviously practices. The biggest issue with the church in the Western Hemisphere is low Biblical Literacy. I am going to imitate him as he imitates Christ … then I can do better to imitate Christ and bring others along. I’m enrolling in Bible Project Classroom Today. Changing the music I listen to, reading more and watching less and taking intentional notes 📝 when I listen to his sermons. 😊❤❤❤❤🎉

My first 2 years as a Christian were a mountain top experience. God made it so easy by His Spirit and power… then the honeymoon was over , I was back in the valley and had to cultivate the garden. Not always easy, and it has been 40 years since I was knocked off my horse on the road to Damascus one morning. Walking the narrow way can just be hard. Read Pilgrim’s Progress. It's beautiful how Tim empowers people and his disciples to be so immersed, thrilled and excited enough about the Bible, that they would want to really go pick the book and study it themselves to confirm, if the book is really this beautiful, than all the not so attractive way they've told or had it projected to them growing up. It's just a priceless experience.

I struggled with doubt for over a decade, and though I've come out the other side as of a few months ago, the message about fruit of the spirit was very timely. I've had more of the slow burn. I notice just a little more patience, just a little more self control, just a little less uncontrollable anger day by day, sometimes week by week or even month by month. The holy spirit isn't a genie that instantly turned me into a saint, but he's there working and I can tell.

it is the FRUIT of the SPIRIT- not my fruit- but the spirit living in me= not me- just as Paul says, I die daily - i decrease and Christ increases. this is not about us doing - but allowing God to do which means laying ourselves aside and that is a process we need to lay our ego aside- and that comes with renewing our mind. and as Paul also said- I do what I don't want to do- but I do what i don't want to do - if we are grafted in- then we have to stop drawing on our own - and learn to draw from Christ.

So, based on comments made about sex, can someone be gay and Christian? Also, are gay people who are in lovingly committed monogamous relationships not growing in the Spirit?
@iwantthetruthandnothingbut65215 жыл бұрын
God made man, and God made woman. It is the DNA / chromosomes of this combination that create children..... Same-sex marriages cannot procreate in this way and thus the Bible calls them an Abomination... Hope this helps...
@ean66124 жыл бұрын
I would say a person who has those sexual inclinations can be most certainly be a Christian, so long as they are actively working toward not acting on them (I.e self control). But if they are in a relationship with someone of the same sex, are they not putting that person/their sexual preference before the wishes of God? If they are, then I might think they’d need to ask themselves where their allegiances truly lie
@StuartTill-l2z4 жыл бұрын
As a former homosexual and person who struggled with my sexuality. I can attest that if you make room for the spirit to work in your sexuality, he will change you. I surrender my sexuality to God, and I can attest that he does regenerate and make it knew. Its tough and its a little painful, but God's plan for my life was so much bigger than my own.

If sexual desire is the thing that takes a person furthest from the Divine, (and not killing people, or cruelty say), why did Jesus go out of his way to speak to the woman at the well who had had 5 husbands, and was living with another man who she wasn't married to? I know he told her to stop, and that it is potentially damaging, but it's hardly the worst thing a person can be guilty of! It appears to me that making a biological drive into the crime of the century, has just created hypocrites within the church, and beyond it. It's easy for me to not be tempted because I'm 61, and no longer have the hormones running through my body and mind, that is the craving of life's longing for, and perpetuation of life. Also, some people who have little or no sex drive don't appear any closer to Christ than a person who does. I don't feel like I'm a better human now that I'm not that interested in sex than I when I was. (Although life is a lot easier!) :)

Love is not an action nor is it a decision, love is spirit, for God is spirit, God is love, the actions of love come forth out of the spirit of love, otherwise you are simply just under the law, meaning, if I do not have love in my heart, yet I act lovingly or speak lovingly, then the law of love has come into being, I am subject to the law, so when it says I should have mercy yet I have hate but I show mercy, then I am under the law of love to produce it, yet this is not true love, this is Faith in Love, this is why Faith In God is salvation, because God's love causes you to produce what is loving at very lease in action and word by the power of faith in love, knowing what you should be doing in a situation if you do not love, but true love is when it lives in the heart so you do this apart from the law, the law disappears and you do it out of the spirit itself, it simply produces it's fruit, this is why those who hate yet produce what is love in action and word, produce it by the power of the Holy Spirit which clothes them, however, if one does not recognise one is not loving then they do not see the truth, because full circumcision of the heart is to be transformed into the Christ, and this image is spirit and it is found within you, I recognised the power of God on my life to simply produce righteousness, whether I love or whether I do not it has nothing to do with my decision, it has everything to do with the power of the holy spirit in my life, the gospel is the power of God unto Salvation, this is what the scripture means, when the Christ said, the spirit will be with you and then within you, otherwise all your living in within yourself is simply the spiritual heart of a man or woman, you are living in the human spirit, this is why you suffer all these things you suffer within yourself, because they belong to the human spirit, this does not belong to the Holy Spirit, and it is this spirit that should be within you, and those who walk by Faith see this happening in their lives, from glory to glory from light to light, as it is written, the seed grows into a great tree within you, or like yeast in dough it works it's way through the whole body, as it is written, you will not get out until you pay the last Penny, because the walk of the Christ is perfection to produce perfect Sons and Daughters of God, that they shine with the light of God, they shine with a godly holiness, this is the power of God, which so many Preacher Man fail to understand or Produce.
