I have no OEM features, i removed optical from original harness and installed it in after market harness. Then i connected originsl harness to other aftermarket harness.

Why you need to change the sound output to aux? So all the Songs you play from Carplay etc run through the aux cable? Isnt it worse audio quality?

Yes everything plays through aux. yes the sound won’t sound as nice as having a cd playing

I fitted a similar unit on my BMW x1 F48 and i forgot to swap the two green fiber optical wires. And after fixing its showing everything except the original i drive settings, could that be the problem?

The only problem with these devices is that they don't read the cars USB, you have to use the external wires.

Hello mate wonder if u could help me… I’ve the same Headunit as u but the thing is when I do the Bluetooth search mine comes up with two options to connect one being a BMW one and other being a ZLINK one.. Now both connect fine but I find it sometimes they clash and at times sound Doesn’t come through or won’t connect.. What one do u personally use to connect t your device and do u also have two?? Or what one would u recommend to use?? Thanks 🙏🏽

Get rid of the bmw Bluetooth. You won’t use it for CarPlay. Only for the original bmw audio system.

After installing an ahd 1080p aftermarket rear camera, the camera not always displaying and when it display and i change the gear, the unit stuck on oem system and wont back to android unless i restart the car :/ any solution please

Try going to settings and make sure the rear view camera is set to aftermarket not oem

I am struggling with to buy the 14.9 inch or not. I have a couple of questions. Is the brightness adjustable? Can you put the screen off when driving? When you put the gear in R, does the original screen pop up with the sensors? Because i do not have a rear camera and i am not planning to install it either. Is it dangerous because of the possible heat? I like to go on vacation in the summer where it is hot throughout the day.. Should i do it? Help me please. I have an f10 from 2011 with the 10inch screen.

No, you have to buy the unit built for the 2017 X4; otherwise, the frame in the back may not fit in the dashboard.

I have a similar screen installed. However few issues: Can no longer answer calls from steering wheel...the call button or scroll does not work.. volume on steering however works Android Auto is also not full screen....operates as square in the middle with black on each side...have tried playing with developer option video resolution from phone but no luck Also when make calls .i can't hear other person....(Car has to be set on aux for audio on head unit to work..whici can be a pain, as sometimes decides to change to OEM radio itself) If anyone can help with any of these, would be great 👍

The audio call issue was due to my phone still being connected to OEM Bluetooth of the car. Had to unpair and remove from cars own Bluetooth

You find that in the newer models you don't need to worry about running that aux cable...waste of time and effort and not to mention ugly

I just plugged everything in like the instructions showed and it worked. There’s some settings you have to configure for it to look right but the sound worked automatically
