Toxic means poisonous, damaging or deadly. A toxic relationship drains the life from you, damages your self-esteem, or kills your dreams. ... You leave your needs, emotions, and personal stories at home because your relationship is always about the other person and their wants, needs, and feelings.

What annoys me is when people tell me to get new friends. Like bruh. WHO!? Im limited to people bc everyone at my school is basic af and nobody else likes me and the only people that like me are toxic and I cant get along with anyone else. Plus my social skills cant "get new friends" so easily. I'm fine with being by myself as well if I cut ties its not like anyone else is gonna just pop into my life

I have a question. My friend can be really dry sometimes and boring. When I try to tell her exciting news, something new that happened to me, or if I need/want to tell her something in general, she always replies with "K" or "Um" and it bothers me and it feels like she doesn't care about what I say. But when we're calling together shes not so dry, shes more funnier, but she never really puts forth a real effort to play with me when I ask if she wants to. I feel like she just doesn't want to be my friend. Is this an example of a good friend or a bad friend?

Sometimes when you're saying leave me alone you truly don't want it because you're going tru something and you want other person to be with you. So it's not like they are seeking for attention I know it's in the video and it is toxic but when you're meeting with that you need to discuse it with your partner if you want realtionship to work

I constantly take stock of my life. Anyone who doesn't add value or meaning to my life, I get rid off. I have no time for toxic people in my life. Been there before and no longer tolerate it. In my last relationship, common mental health issues caused me to feel unhappy, and my subconsciousness decided to start erasing feelings. I did address this problem with her multiple times, but she never did anything about it. Since i have a history with mental health, i understood why. I kept trying to motivate her but alas, i failed to do so. After 10 months of waiting i received depression and decided to call it and break up. I hope she takes care of herself for i can't

It's not necessarily a point directly related to the video, but I love how one character has a sprout growing and the other is a cactus. They both may have different needs to care for each other, and it may lead to friction at times, but that doesn't mean they can't grow together. Communication has always been key for me, but sadly it's something I've had to learn through prior relationships (hoping to change that in the future; haven't had a chance at one recently).

In my situation, I do feel a rather disconnect and disrespect from them that wasn’t there before. I often feel like they don’t care or have any respect for my thoughts or feelings. Whenever I’m struggling a lot or having a really off day, and need to talk, there is a lot of emotional disconnects and negativity, and they seem almost annoyed or disinterested that I’m acting the way I am, and I also have terrible social anxiety that doesn’t make it any better. There’s a lot of disrespect too. I always try to give support and be engaged into what there talking about and be interested in the subject there talking about even though I don’t have the same passion/love for it as they do, and I really don’t feel the same love/acceptance back. I really want to talk about it with them, but I feel like it’ll only make things worse/bring more negativity and awkwardness and I don’t feel like they want me to talk anyways. This has been going on for a long time now, and it didn’t use to be like this, and it’s really heartbreaking because we used to be really close friends, and I still love them.

Poor communication and disrespect led to excess stress. Happiness, on the other hand, is what pulled me back every time. The underlying issue of not knowing that friendships need communication creates estrangement and confusion... yet when you're together, everything is bliss. Friends that you just connect on another level that just happen to have seemingly unaddressed issues create an environment that forces you to dig deep and wait until they reach out.

So. I had this friend. He was very close woth me and people thought we were dating even though we weren't. At first our friendship was very good then he started to change. He talked less and when i asked him important questions he didn't answer. When i talked abt that to him, he said he's too tired of talking. And i tried to change myself for him. But yeah, eventually i got worn out. There were same repeated cycles, (he was my game friend) i talked alone bcs he didn't tell he's afk, i told him to say it if he's away, he said ok, then he tried to do it, but then stopped again. And the cycle repeated. I felt like im playing alone. I cut my friendship with him when i realized he didn't rlly care abt me at all. In the end i was the one who's been feeling guilty. He said he cared for me, but when i needed him, he's not there. Welp sorry, long story lmao.

Can I just say something? Toxic relationships are bad. I’ve been there. Someone (after cheating on me), attempted suicide because I tried to move on. They manipulated me, and controlled me for so long. Luckily, my current love saved me, and I love him so much ❤️💞

Me and my husband are having this issue. We are not good on communication. And we try to discuss about it but is hard, because we both have our personal child trauma and we ended rather not to talk and let it pass than have a big conversation and try to resolve. I've grown up with divorced parents caused by cheating( I've discovered a few years ago the reason of divorce) and a had a lot of friends who cheated from their partners. Also in my country betrayals are unfortunately commum, Brazil, all you see on internet are people making fun of being cheated or telling experience on how much their had been cheated. And growing up as a super conservative japanese family and as a religious person I tend to be super cautelous and worried about things that can be sex appealing because on both everything are too appealing. I try to not worry and trust but for me cheating it looks something natural that happens. I saw so many friends have an innocent conversation to some guy and I alarmed than to not do something stupid neother fall for those guys and they all had and cheated from their actual partners or made the other guy cheats on his actual partner. All start on innocence...till they actual betrayed the one they supposed love

Totally saw all those signs in my ex tried to talk to him but he always use to play the victim card then . He used to start crying and saying things like he is sorry and will not repeat this Or things lke please don't leave me I'm not gonna able to live without u and all . But due this after a period of time i couldn't even start a real conversation with cause it would always end up with him crying or doing some self harm . It was scary and miserable I felt really stuck in the relationship. But with the support of my frnds and family I could leave him and now I'm super happy .

I honestly feel like me and my ex-partner were both toxic to each other in a few ways. My partner holds onto grudges longer than anyone I know, and his domineering and intimidating personality always kept me in a state of intense stress and anxiety. In my case, I promised to be loyal to my ex-partner when we got back together after a short breakup and then ended up breaking up with him again a few days later because I didn't feel comfortable, safe, or happy in said relationship. I also lied to my ex-partner about my love for him due to my fear of him wanting to hurt me if things went south between us. In the end, I ended up cursing him out through text and blocking his number. I wish I could just move on from this whole thing and work on bettering myself, but my ex-partner and I are both part of a bigger friend group, which means that I can't truly escape from him without potentially losing my other friends. I've been scared and severely anxious for the past few days, and I'm just hoping that I can find a way to get through this. Anyways, thank you so much for making this video, Psych2Go. It really helped me figure out where I went wrong.

I had no idea, this entire time, my ex-boyfriend (& current roommate) & I had a toxic relationship... *1. They offer a lack of support:* Yep. Ex-boyfriend has done this. It doesn't help that we live together sharing an apartment even after we ended our relationship as soulmates. We're still friends, but when I ask for support or to support or help him, he rejects it. What doesn't help is that we live far away from my folks, so the closest to a "support system" I have are my stuffed animals that I hug. *2. They're controlling:* Not this. He'll often talk budget of money everyone once in a while & job ideas for me, but that's about it. *3. Jealousy:* Ex-boyfriend found someone to date after me (& was talking with her at a church he was introduced to while dating me) & their relationship now is moving so fast in comparison to him & me it's making me frustrated. In addition, thanks to that clod, who for all intents & purposes stole my soulmate, Eevee is now my least favorite Pokémon of all time. *4. Dishonesty:* Thanksgiving day 2019. Before that we had a mutual end to our dating relationship due to unhappiness. On Thanksgiving day 2019, we were discussing the courage we had to move where we are. I had mentioned my courage to move away from my family... Then he told me his courage paid off & confessed to me about this other lady... *5. Bad Communication:* On top of that story from #4, right after that, he admitted to me that on the days that he said he was "going out with friends", he was actually seeing a psychologist to figure out if he wanted to be with me or this other girl, & if the other girl, how to break up with me since I "don't take bad news well." *6. Disrespect:* He doesn't do this, but we don't communicate well unless it's about a common interest. *7. Holding onto grudges:* Because of this damn girl who ruined our relationship, I am VERY bitter & upset of her & the person who introduced my ex-boyfriend to the church she was in. Those 2 ruined my future & my life & my soulmate, & I will NEVER forgive them both for it!... EVER!... *8. Constant stress & unhappiness:* Lately, yes... I have had no reason to be happy lately, whether he's around me or not. There are a lot of things that make me stressed & unhappy already. Usually my ex-boyfriend would do or say something to help, but it's not as effective as it use to be.
@inkeriananas

The other girl may not have been in the right, but how was she the one who ruined your relationship? Sounds like it wasn't meant to be anyway and your ex is the one who cheated or something.
@ladylightvybe4138

I am sorry you have this experience & hope you heal in the future. You ex sounds like a creep, you deserve better. With regard to your comments about the other people who introduced them, you are misdirecting your anger. These people didn't plot against you, that's life. Acceptance is the key & the culprit is your ex who despite knowing your feelings & being on a relationship, disregarded that to pursue another. He is not the person you idealised at the beginning of the relationship & it is difficult sometimes to accept that some people truly don't care as they are narcissists looking for what they can get not what they can give. Love & light to you.
