My mother-in-law once stated, “Whoever said these were the golden years was full of shit!” I now understand!💩

I've always been happy being alone. I stay away from unpleasant family members. I like going forward not backwards. My own son doesn't want anything to do with me so i moved on. I can't complain about my life. I'm happy. I've go god

Exactly, life is too short to go backwards. Move forward, there's so much more to see and do!

I'm 82 and can tell you several reasons for elderly behavior: pain and gradual loss of stamina (i.e. tire easily). Pills ease the pain, but exercise does nothing to increase stamina.

Yeah, I’m 83 and I know exactly where you’re at. Have a lot of pain and take pain medication, but I have absolutely no energy and what I miss is my enthusiasm for life. I’ve been working on this for a while and have a little bit of improvement that it’s not pleasantwishing you the best.😊

@@btyboopers41bm I'm only 75y but have had muscle problems and fatigue for the past 3.5 decades and an accidental injury a few years ago and it is really catching up with me. What did you do to achieve a bit of improvement? I keep wondering what I'm going to be like at 85 if I'm this way at 75. Blessings to you, p

This is good advice. As a member of the Baha'i Faith I have learned about the importance of daily prayer. I pray for my own health and the health of others. Another of the Baha'i teachings is being helpful to others, and not just focus on yourself. Whatever religion a person has the spiritual teachings are the same, like "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Put God in your life. God is Love.

Talking about past, Stubbornness, Neglecting personal hygiene, Complaining too much, Hoarding useless things, Ignoring health issues, Expecting too much from family, Becoming too isolated.

We stink,we have useless stuff and we become isolated but expect too much of you.! Wake up! You can’t have it both ways, staying alone but demanding doesn’t match!

I am so sorry I did not listen to my parents stories and ask more family questions. So many people have interesting family history.

What a load of crap. I am just tired. I'm 73. No one knows what I am going through. What this person is saying doesn't apply to every senior person. Some of us just can't be like what he is suggesting. How dare he say not to be dependent on our children or family members. Well I'm not depend on anyone but my 44 year old first born son who is disabled, mentality and physically from birth is dependent on me. I take care of him on my own. So like I said this guy should wait till he is 70,then see if he follows through with what he said. 🇬🇷

I have to agree. People have different paths and circumstances. He is absolutely correct though, in that most people don't want to hear "old" stories....they might learn something! I'm 75yr old and I still routinely speak the things my father told or taught me through my life and also my own grandmother lives vibrantly in my memories. She also told me things that I didn't really "get" until later in life. Like the importance of teaching me to memorize the 23rd Psalm at 5 yr old. I know the Bible fairly well but no scripture is as deeply ingrained like that long ago lesson from an old woman. It's funny, that old woman died when I was 15y and I've missed her almost everyday of my life since. One good thing about the years coming to a close will be that I will soon get to see her once again. THAT will be the "Golden Years". There is no way ... no way on God green earth that anyone except those that have experienced it...that have dedicated their lives to an ill child or loved one can understand the life sacrifice. I pray you and yours will be comforted and supported and rewarded. Sorry for rambling. Just one of those annoying things that old people do. Love and blessings, p

I like to hear older folks reminisce. I think the issue is when they start repeating themselves too often.

The can't re-change their memories. We don't remember everything, so we kinda stay what we remember with.

Why do you show ugliness in the seniors. Most seniors look good and healthy. This view of these seniors do not bring a sense of pride!😢

DITTO wisdom in motion indeed. I admit mine was stubborn. My life path as an achiever and responsible for many in my life, as such; I learned to depend on myself and be my own BFF. Technology has been my challenge. As a Life Coach during Covid 19 I had to learn how to zoom etc. However; I refuse to be a slave to the cell phone, it's only for emergencies. Thank you.

This video is bull crap. I worked my tail off for over 50 years looking forward to being away from back stabbing people. It was in all aspects of my life; work, family, friends; strangers. I looked forward toward retirement and leaving the BS behind me. I enjoy being by myself and not answering to anyone. I have no children or friends and I'm fine with that. I enjoy working my land and I have a hobby that makes me some spending money when I need it. My wife still works part time and she has lots of people she spends time with without me. I hate crowds and listening to people telling me how terrific their kids, grandkids, etc. are. I could not give a crap about another person's life or experiences. I'm plenty happy by myself.

How about stop talking 'about' older people and giving them space to speak for themselves. Your depiction of older people as pathetic smelly mutes says more about you than it does them. I've had a whole life-time of listening to other people. I had hoped that being seen as an old fart might make it stop. No such luck. Only a few days ago I was told all about how hard it was for a young woman to emigrate. Today a brief visit by a maintenance guy had him telling me all about his mother.
