You are like me, red lipstick is a bit shocking to the eye when you first put it on. But a minute after you put it on in your video once my eye became accustomed to it, your face did look brighter. So I agree with the red lipstick. For some of us it is finding the right shade of red and not an overpowering one. They say the trick in choosing one is to apply the color with absolutely no make up on. The shade that brightens your face without makeup is your shade.

I am not a big red fan. When you said people looked at a person longer when they wore red lipstick it made me think they looked only because the color is bright not because they were more attractive. Some of the tips are good like the skincare tip.

This was super helpful! I actually have noticed that I get more positive attention when I wear red lipstick or a red blouse. And Lou, you DO look good in that red lipstick. Perhaps if you just EVER SO SLIGHTLY overdraw your top lip, you’d like it, too. (That’s what I have to do when wearing a darker color lippie. As I age, my top lip keeps shrinking.) In your next video, wear a red top, just to see if you get more compliments! 😘😘😘

You and I have similar coloring, I am freckled though...and older. I certainly wouldn’t wear red lipstick all the time but a warm paprika or tomato red is a guaranteed winner fir me, compliments wise. I like a natural, healthy look too. I aim at a sheer red lip tint and/or gloss more often than lipstick. However, I do plan to have red in my regular wardrobe rotation Summer & Winter. I don’t wear black, white, or grey because they make me look like I’m dying, somehow you always look great. That is okay, I like dressing differently than everyone else and the pop of red doled out on the regular feels vibrantly joyful. It’s one of my capsule colors, a basic in my palette. I like the way it pairs with cream, teal, and caramel.

I'm jealous of your hair!!! You have gorgeous hair! Mine is thinning, shapeless, even hairdresser's don't know what to do with it (even tried toppers/wigs, but nope, all looks fake). I also have naturally yellowish teeth, my dentist refuses to whiten them, and earlier attempts were painful as hell. The white teeth is quite overdone in the US though, don't you think? There is healthy white, but then there is the 'I had my teeth whitened, look, I have money' look which is so off putting.

Everything you mention may well be right for some (men) but personally I find intelligence really attractive. Intelligence, character (like you have, Lou) and individuality. Beauty may be only on the surface -and most people, man included, enhance that with makeup, etc, whatever- but ugliness cuts right to the bone. Just be a nice and genuine person and dress up to make yourself feel good. You do that, you'll be attractive to others. And Lou, darling, you with red lipstick I'm sure I've seen your "sister" at De Wallen!

I have a problem with the colour red. I have never liked any clothes in red. The mirroring definately works. Hard to remember to do the mirroring. I will try it on somebody and see what happens. I have also heard a nice soft gentle voice for women is calming and draws others to us.

I don't wear red lipstick anymore, either. But, there's hope I've heard. Apparently anyone can wear it, it's just a matter of finding the right shade for your skintone. The last one I tried was an orange red (yuck), but because I have a warm complexion, I guess I need a violet/blue red. You can check out the makeup counters and see. Good video, Lou! :)

I beg to differ...the red lippie made your eyes pop more! And while I'm speaking on your eyes...you did a video not to long ago where you added some liner on your lower lash line. Not the water line...the actual lash line. If you used even just a soft color smudged along that lower lash line...Your eyes would be even prettier than they are. It would balance out your eyes better . It looks like something is always missing with your eye makeup...and I believe that is what it is. Balance. You're beautiful...so please take this the way I've meant it...not as a critic. And of course do you...I'm just saying... :)

I’m not super confident either, especially in a meeting. In a one on one I’m more confident. I’m never going to wear red lipstick. Since I’m almost 49, the sides of my mouth has definitely turned down. I don’t want to draw attention to it. It stinks because I have to make an effort to hold it up in a half smile or people ask me what I’m upset about (worst part of aging in my opinion). I’ll take crows feet any day over sagging mouth.

Women when aroused blood will flow more to the lips making them more red and fuller. The idea is to find the right red for you. My best daily red is more of a gloss with just a hint of red. The red brighten your eyes.

The red lip does look pretty on you, but I have to agree, at the age I am now it just feels like too much....like I'm trying too hard to look like a Parisian and should have a baguette in my bike basket....if I had one. I think the red lips thing is so subjective. Some women look stunning with colored lipstick, and others just...don't. I prefer natural-looking makeup with an emphasis on the eyes (I don't even wear foundation). A vibrant lip color doesn't suit my overall vibe. But I'm also not trying to subconsciously tell people how eager my lady bits are 😂😂😂
