Great presentation on how to think and be creative with creature baits. Nice work.

Baby goat looks like it would be great for a Ned rig!

for sure - i throw the baby goat on a ned just to show them something different. I'll cut one egg sack off to make it a little more "finesse-y"

Sold me on the goat looks like a good all a round bait. I have a few of them in the goat size. Great video I like all the ways to use it. thanks for all the teaching and techniques.

I like throwing the Billy Goat as a top water on 4/0 hook- just chunk and wind but it works. Since the bait floats you really don't have to reel it very fast- and you can even put it on a keel weighted hook and still keep it on the surface- which helps with casting distance. The baby goat I like on a Ned head- just cut the top egg sack off and it fits a standard head perfect. The standard Goat I use on swim jigs but I often don't split the tails- I rig it horizontal and leave them connected, helps keep the swim jig higher in the water column. Which is great if you want to fish it over vegetation.

8 ways to improve your fishing. Size does matter. I hope people paid attention to the color combinations as well. Watermelon / Red is a killer Carolina color. Thank you Brother Brian!

Dang it's always seemed to me that burying the hook would completely stop hookups. But obviously not if B LAT does it lol. Pretty sure the man knows what he's talking about 😂😂. Great info sir. Love the goats.

Hey Brian: Good ways! Another way: I found the Billy GOAT works better than a hollow-body frog over lilypads. I put it weightless on a screwlock EWG hook size 5/0.

Do you split the tails on each rig or leave them connected?
@OCBeachLife3 жыл бұрын
Always split them, for more action to entice the strike.
@stoneysdead6893 жыл бұрын
I usually split them but, you can leave them together for a more subtle action- depends on what mood the fish are in. I leave them connected often when throwing a swim jig- seems to help keep it up in the water column and make it sort of float along- which is a great way to fish a swim jig over vegetation.

Thanks for the info! I’ve been using the billy goat on EWG hook 5/0 buzzing on and near cheesy mats...it’s been a killer lately on a local pond! Love that it’s so durable and floats. Going to try the other methods...let you know how it goes!
