Carl Anthony Payne who played Cockroach in "Cosby Show" and he also played Cole Brown in "Martin" Show was in the first clip commercial. And Kim Coles from In living Color and Living Single was in the McDonald's clip commercial

Whoa, I didn't know Hyundai was around since the 80's! I must not have really paid attention since I didn't have a drivers license. Love the commercials, wish we got more diverse commercials than the ones we have now.

That MacGyver Christmas episode looks cheesy in that ad but it was honestly one of the best Christmas stories I've ever come across.

Wow! A lot of commercials and promos of highlights on ABC in December 1989 including a TV Commercial Promo of MacGyver Season 5 Episode 11 The Madonna. I remember this episode well. It was aired on ABC on the 18th of December 1989. This was a christmas episode of Series 5 of MacGyver.

"the killing of an American soldier in Panama" during the News Brief(towards the end) was right before "Operation Just Cause"(US military invasion of Panama)on 12/20/89(I was a sophmore in HS at the time).A collegue at my work was a 20 year old army airborne soldier who experience that combat invasion.

Ahhh..."Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire". 12-year-old me was unimpressed that evening. 33-year-old me has the DVD box set of every available season. I'm kind of surprised they had a "MNF, then MacGyver" promo. Here in the Central Time Zone, where MacGyver came before the game, they always ran that that promo first, with a notation on the screen that said "Follows game on the West Coast". I figured they did that out west as well.

Ah, I remember "la la la la la life goes on!" Hank Williams Jr no longer doing the MNF? Seems that Xmas was more magical back then! Who Framed Roger Rabbit was not for children. I watched it with my son and was shocked at what was sayed/shown in that movie yet they advertised it for kids. I liked it though.

It was interesting how several cold medications back then used the same branding as their manufacturers' pain relievers with "Co" in front. I remember that Tylenol Cold was called "CoTylenol" at that time.

they could still sell CoAdvil today cause in fine print it had "contains acetaminophen and psuedoephedrine". psueoephedrine is not restricted like real ephedrine (what's in sudafed) is. psuedoephedrine has been proven several times not to very effective though.
