I also live for that wacky scotch tape commercial.

My goal with these, first and foremost is preserving blocks of ads as they originally aired, warts and all. I'm not really interested in preserving a "vibe".

80sCommercialVault I've watched tons of your videos... they're priceless & highly nostalgic to me...It just really bugged me out earlier to have such a mood swing when I always have such a huge smile viewing them, so I commented about it at the time...Personally I would have edited that out, because I'm sure it was a buzzkill to others out there too...But yea, it's your channel & you have every right to be as insensitive as you want & make decisions on how you handle the uploads lol Not that big of a deal, I'll still watch regardless

Stevaside I'm not trying to be confrontational, but I don't think it's "insensitive" to present an unedited time capsule of what aired on TV 30 years ago, regardless of what content it contains. The only editing I do on these is to remove duplicate ads. Anything else I feel would be a disservice. If these videos trigger responses, be they joy, sadness, reflection or whatever...that's a good thing.

80sCommercialVault I understand what you mean, but I had the idea a good portion of this channel was about bringing back good memories to people from back in the day...I mean that's what I always got from it..Was just kinda awkward to be like "wow, I remember this commercial" "aww look how things were back in the day" & then "the state wouldn't pay for this little kids Leukemia, so his parents moved for him, but it was too late, he died"...Im sorry that just ruined it for me tonight, that's all I'm saying.

Stevaside Well, I'm sorry a 30 second long news break from over a quarter century ago ruined your night. I'm not going to censor things and pretend that the world back then was a completely perfect, happy-go-lucky place.

Re: The Conductor commercial Well, curiosity got the best of me. I put the video at fullscreen and enabled the Magnifier in Windows 8.1 and couldn't make of the fine print of the ad but at the 8:08 mark, I paused the video and read the package label: The Conductor High-Output Alkaline Audio Cell Then, I noticed something at the top left corner: *eady* Now, I have a good idea what it is. I searched the Google Newspapers Archive, found a June 14, 1988 article and in the 7th paragraph it states: _Kodak is not the first to launch a special battery for a specific purpose. Several months ago, Eveready introduced a line of batteries called "The Conductor" which are designed for use in audio equipment, such as portable stereos._ news.google.com/newspapers?id=q3ghAAAAIBAJ&sjid=DokFAAAAIBAJ&pg=902%2C3577894
