I remember my first time back, on the course after losing my dad. I played alone because I felt sure I would sob for 18 holes. I had tears in my eyes teeing off the 1st but before I reached my ball for my 2nd shot I had a smile on my face for the first time in months. I genuinely felt my dad walking the course with me one last time and by the end of the round I knew anytime I needed to feel my dads presence I could always find it on the course because of all the wonderful memories we shared laughing and beating balls around. The game of golf made my dad not just my dad but also my best friend. Golf is so much more than a sport. Happy upcoming fathers day to John and OMP.💛💛

I watch a lot of videos on KZbin including a lot of you Golf Mates but very rarely get the urge to comment.. But this video really got me, its the absolute dogs danglies and I loved every second of it. Two absolute legends strolling the fairways. To just hear them chatting away down the fairway is great viewing and makes you realise what we have all missed over this last 12 months. OMP talking about Only Fools and Horses was a personal highlight because my Grandad would constantly quote Only Fools and Horses, he absolutely loved it. OMP took me right back to one of those moments when my Grandad would tell me the quote (even though I’d heard/seen most of them tons of times 😂).. I really loved it even though a couple of tears fell 🥲. All the best to OMP, your old man, yourself Liam and the rest of the Golf Mates clan! My dear old Dad back in Kent plays almost every day with his golf club pals. It's been his source of strength during these past 2 yrs - the hope of being outside playing again.
