Are a set of $800 coilovers worth your money? People always say you get what you pay for, but is that the case when it comes to your suspension? Well, today we're installing a set of inexpensive coilovers to test out whether or not they're worth it!

Perfect review! We think you hit the nail right on the head with our F-Specs. We slot them as our "comfort" focused option, and recognize that the softer spring rates and valving aren't going to be the all out best option for performance or track driving. We've leaned into the "daily driver" or OEM-like ride quality, making them specific for drivers who simply want to add adjustable ride height without sacrificing comfort. Shameless recommendation, FactionFab also has FL-Specs for a street performance option, or FR-Spec for a more track focused setup if you want more out of your coilovers!

I know this comment is 2 months late but how much lift do your kits offer? I am hoping for my 2023 GR86 when it comes in to do more of a street/rally setup with larger tires and more ground clearance. So far my attempts to locate a TRD rally coilover set have failed so I am looking for back up opitions.

@factionfab5834

@@mvp3100 We don't offer camber plates for our F-Spec as it's goal is simple height adjustment and ride comfort. I'd recommend you make the jump up to the FL-Specs if you are after camber plates, that coilover is usually a better fit for customers who are looking to have additional camber adjustment and performance.

If you're just trying to get low and are all about the aesthetics then I can definitely see this price point over Spring/Shocks... but suspension is a part that is used literally at all times regardless if you're driving aggressively or daily driving. The problem is... everything in your car is an investment. You're going to keep your car for a long time... you don't have to make all your mods at one time. Take your time... space out your mods but get GOOD mods.
@KevinVo
@KevinVo 2 жыл бұрын
Eh... I wouldn't say everything in your car is an investment. Most of time, cars are not an investment especially when you start modifying them. I do get what you mean though. If you plan on keeping the car for a while it makes sense, but in this day and age people usually only keep cars for a few years and then part them out.

@@KevinVo sure, but having crappy suspension can take away the enjoyment of driving the car itself or worse cause the car to have snappy characteristics that can potentially endanger the occupants or others around. It's a slippery-slope argument though because the extreme side of things is going overkill on suspension and getting 3-Way adjustable coilovers for a daily driver. I'm just a suspension guy who once upon a time drove with shitty suspension before someone showed me what good suspension was like.

I think a really good $700 - $900 option purely based on how frequently I see the community use it plus the quality of JDM is Teinz. Can't go wrong with Teinz for that price point. It also comes with camber adjustability too I believe. I was hoping you were going to reveal that the GR86 got some Teinz parts available now too lol.
