Lewis Black | Thanks for Risking Your Life (Full Comedy Special)

Lewis Black, heir to the George Carlin throne of the comedy rant, and practitioner of his signature blend of frustrated optimism, lets loose again on his familiar punching bags of hypocrites, corporate swindlers, and governmental incompetents. Black doesn’t have set-ups to jokes so much as he has volcanic build-ups, twitchily rumbling up to eruptive punch lines. Black performed this set just days after the rest of the country shut down (the show was allowed to go on because it was in a sovereign Native American venue), so his commentary covers our current Corona-induced anxiety and his own hilarious frustration over The-Orange-One-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Lewis Black doesn’t take political sides; whether he’s exposing the wide-spread systemic failures of both parties, or pin-pointing the micro-stupidities within pop culture, commensurate rage is jettisoned in favor of deploying an overwhelming force of comic condemnation, punctuated by his ever-present arsenal of F-Bombs.

Two parties living in two different realities... Most astute observation, EVER! Instead of two teams working towards a common goal, it's more like capture the flag but don't outsmart the other side using guile and misdirection. Political capture the flag involves the red side pointlessly attempting to destroy the blue side using nukes, while the blue side sends out their team members to negotiate terms. The problem with that game, is that the blue side is educated using a logic based program, whereas the red side is compromised of mostly schoolyard bullies... Awesome set, Lewis!! It's this way because we the people prop it up and that proves we want it because a big percentage of those who will read this will also be going to the polls in November to vote, which is volt as in giving your energy to the current System and this literally legitimately gives them the power to do what they do. I always enjoy Lewis Black. But I particularly enjoyed his show when he came to Wichita in Nov. 2016, after Trump got elected. He came out on stage, seemed to go off script, and completely lost his $hit. Not funny, just angry. It was a glorious meltdown. TDS is real.
