It’s so sad to see a person’s home like this when they have passed away, it’s like their life meant nothing
@myowndrum286

Damn sad, isn't it? However, you can take nothing with you when you're called home. I had a very wealthy friend who passed some years ago. Someone at the service for him asked me "How much did he leave?" I replied, 'Everything! You take nothing with you" The material world is immaterial when you leave this plane.

Wouldn’t it be terrible to look down upon your home soon after your passing and see that someone had done just this to your home? You can’t take it with you, but there’s no reason to destroy something like this 😢😭💔 there’s many people in need of a home smh.

@WyboGamErs I feel exactly that way. Abandoned homes - or even warehouses, offices, etc. - feel like lonely souls to me. All of the emotions and energy invested inside those walls...was it just meaningless, in the end?

How heartbreaking that Gerrys home has been trashed like that. There is such a warm, calm, loving vibe to this house. Imagine his son returning and seeing the house he grew up in being so damaged and empty of his parents now. Maybe he did and was too grief stricken to do anything about it after vandals have been in. Once a home is violated like that it can’t ever be the same. Loved this explore. Thanks Adam 👏👏🖤🖤

I do think either the son has passed through there or another thoughtful Urbex person/relative has been. There are indications that things like books are nearly stacked in front of sprayed graffiti or photos, like next to the bed, were placed under objects to prevent them from being blown away. It suggests a good visitor at least.

The son is quite likely dead as attempts will have been made to trace him. The government arrange for people to try to trace property owners & take the costs of doing so out of the inheritance. If he was around he would be aware that he probably would inherit the house.

Thank you for this beautiful video. I don't understand why a house remains unclaimed and abandoned. It gives me great sadness to see the house of someone who basically died alone, most probably because that's how I will die. I have no family, no husband, no children and no friends. I will make a Will to make sure when I die my house will go to charity (animal shelters). It feels strange that one day someone will clean/empty my house and throw away all my photos (I wonder what they'll say when they'll find the photos of me at metal concerts) and all my beautiful mother's photos, I cherish them so much, that's all I have left about her.

You're assuming these people were nice parents. Maybe they weren't. I work in an old people's home and regularly meet elderly folk whose grown-up children don't visit...and with good reason. I've also know elderly people who have outlived their children or whose children have emigrated. Maybe their child is well-off and didn't need the bother of sorting his inheritance. Maybe he's a drunk. There are thousands of reasons.

I totally agree with everything that Caroline Howard said in her comment. In it's day I truly believe that the home actually smiled when visitors came to visit and it stayed warm and loving for Jerry until his last days. I really get disgusted when I see the graffiti that ignorant, destructive people do to abandoned homes like this one. I felt a smile from the living room area when we went into it, like a welcoming feeling. I imagined what it would've been like living there before the deaths and destruction happened. I would've been just fine living in the countryside like that is. Thank you Adam for sharing this video with us.

This one was Sad! Why do people have to thrash stuff, I don't get it. Looks like it would have been a lovely home back in it's day! Poor Gerry, whatever happened to his Son I wonder. Thank you Adam for this lovely Explore!! Can't wait for the next one!! Stay Safe

I feel kind of sad that the old man lived by himself. I hate the people who deface old houses. Thabk you Adam.

I really love the look of this house. What a shame his son didn't take care if it! I can tell it was a wonderful place to live!

Thanks for a lovely experience: it's a "Goldilocks " home: not too big, and not too small. Actually, for an ailing person on their own, it is already too much. Too many rooms and too much land. It's sad about the son's not returning. My greetings from Spain.

It's the vandals that ruin it for the respectful explorers like you Adam. Such beautiful finds.

Thank you Adam. This was a lovely cottage in it's day wasn't it. You can tell the owners loved it very much. It's sad when the family that's left let's them fall into such a state of disrepair. Stay safe and take care. Tell Lisa and Dale Hello and look forward to seeing them again.

Absolutely Love your videos Adam! The little wooden game board with holes in it in the cupboard is what I believe to be a Cribbage board. Pretty fun card/ peg game that my grandpa taught me (which also helped me learn to count to 15 and variants of 15) back in the day. This house is so beautiful! Loved the grandad carpet and chairs! So comfy and warm! And the views are so peaceful. It is so frustrating though when vandals come in and mark it uo and ruin such a wondrous place. So unnecessary and disrespectful! Breaks my heart! Thank you for showing us beyond all that vandalism to allow us to imagine what a joy filled home this may have been. Thoroughly enjoyed this explore!
