Sue, this looks interesting. We have a pop up screen tent that takes just a minute to unfold. It isn't a clam, but a much cheaper alternative. Shade and no bugs too. Only downside is when packed up in it's carrier it is about 3 feet wide, although only about 6 inches deep. And it doesn't attach to the vehicle, so some carrying is necessary. And needs some staking so it doesn't blow away 😂. No perfect solution. Nice if someone would invent a pop up screen that would attach to a tailgate!

Absolutely, a pop up that would attach to a vehicle… I’d love that. One day someone may invent it.

Very nice and you did a good job setting it up. I need one of these for my van😀

Thank you for the compliment. You can buy these through Amazon. They are not very expensive. We have used ours a lot, even more than our Napier tent.

Happy Anniversary! Looks like you two are enjoying some warm sunny weather in one of our state parks. Welcome to the U.S.! I'll look forward to seeing more of your trip. Have a nice time!

Yes, unusual weather we’ve been having, although I’ve experienced this before, a warming trend right up into October. I lived in St. John’s Newfoundland, our most easterly province, worked there for 10 years. When I returned home to Ontario it was as if the province was welcoming me home. The weather was nice from April all the way to the end of October. I remember taking the kids out for Halloween and the air was warm with a soft rain falling. It may be like that this Thursday. When I want to warm up I go south. I’ve travelled quite a bit through many States. I love the US. My ancestors settled there and some cousins are still in the States. I have American blood…lol… and… I almost always celebrate the American Thanksgiving, coming soon. If I worked, I’d take the day off, put a turkey in the oven and watch the Macey’s Thanksgiving Parade. A lovely tradition. Do you do the same?

@@TwoSeniors - Thanks for sharing some of your background. So you've been thru the States quite a bit. I visited Canada once as a child when on a family vacation way back when. No passport needed. I remember stopping at customs and they opened up the trunk of our car and rifled thru a suitcase. We did pass customs. I remember Canada as a beautiful country and there were a lot of flowers at the customs area. We're talking the 1950's. Yes, that turkey goes in the oven and the Macy's Day Parade gets turned on. It's been a tradition since I was a kid and on thru to my kids when they were at home. I always enjoy seeing the inflatables. Some friends and I were talking about the upcoming presidential election and we all agreed (tongue in cheek) that we will move to Canada if Trump wins. Not a fan, to say the very, very least. Enjoy your anniversary trip!

@Judy-fi7ce We will be watching the election Nov 5, it affects us Canadians too. It’s all kinda nerve wracking.

@@TwoSeniors - The European countries will be watching too. If Trump gets elected, this country will suffer greatly. How he is allowed to run for president is beyond me. I'll keep a positive attitude that Harris will win. It's about time we had a woman president anyway and she's qualified.
