actually, the board you are repairing in this video was brought in by me, and I'm indeed a happy customer :) (identified the board by the cracked component we briefly see in the video) You guys gave me a nice price, I had it back like 2 days later and everything worked out fine :) thx Simon M.

Bravo come sempre ;-). Pur fortuna nel mio caso ho dovuto sostituire solo il componente U9701 e la retroilluminazione è tornata a funzionare.

TL; DR: Mid 2012 15inch 2.3Ghz Macbook Pro: a1286 md103LL Backlight fuse went out. Where is it. What does it look like. What do I need to buy to fix it. Please & thank you! Hey Louis, I had an issue with my macbook before & your keyboard replacement tutorial helped so much! A few friends have also had issues with other Apple products & I've referred you to them since. Now I have another problem, but can't find much information out there. I was hoping you could help. It's a Mid 2012 15inch 2.3Ghz Macbook Pro: a1286 md103LL Well the backlight fuse went out. Screen still shows an image, but needs a flood light to see it & an external monitor still works. From your other videos I figured this is the problem. I know how to weld proficiently & soldering won't be that hard. I'd really appriciate it if you could tell me what I need to buy to replace it. Where the fuse is at & what it looks like. I live in an area that doesn't have any Apple repair stores remotely close & need my computer daily for work so sending it off would be impossible. I'm stuck between a rock & a hard place, so I need some help. I hate to be "that clueless dumbass" on KZbin asking for help, but it's come to this. I'd really appriciate any help you can give me. Thank you for doing what you do, you have no idea how much it helps. Even if you can't help me I'll continue to support you & your channel. Have a good one.

Hi Louis Hope your well, I have been watching your videos for a long time and in that you have definitely inspired me to get into board repairs, so i ordered 13 A1181 macbooks with most of them having no backlight, issues, As i am a novice & there are no tutorial videos on youtube apart from the 1 video you recorded in 2015 i wondered if you help me by pointing me to the components which need replacing as this would be awesome. Regards.

Hi Louis, Could you kindly make a video on how to see if the PP"x"V"x" voltage rail exits using a multimeter. I hope I am not asking for too much. Kind Regards,

Hey, I have Macbook 2010 mid 13-inch model and board seem to be working.. fan turns on, hdd going, external dvdrw powering. I get normal tune sound but then screen flashes for 1 second and turns black with some degree of brightness. Sometimes when i boot it goes white but without question mark for missing hdd. Tried everything including using alcohol + brush to clean board and reseat all 3x, IF there was liquid spill. Didnt see any component missing or bulged.. but some kind of burn marks on few points, No corrosion. External monitor shows same white screen if i close lid on bootup. I got kernel panic when installing Lion osx before all of this and it never worked, single-user mode was working aswell.. now suddenly nothing. Any ideas? Even little tip appreciated.

+Mark Steven I know, it's amazing. My goal is that if you have shit speakers like what's in my T520 that are tinny and low you can hear everything clearly with it across the bench at full volume while working. This mic makes that possible!

Hi Louis, I mean nothing negative, I really enjoy your videos and I have learned a lot of them but don't you think that C9020 and C9796 have actually a chance of working if you solder them on correct pads? I mean parallel to LVDS pointing L9080.

Louis, how many volts on a 6v circuit can I inject to find a short? It's obviously drawing zero amps...
