APR is in Alabama dude not Germany. And they tune many makes not just audi. Now all APR has to do is release the tune to the public and stop holding out. Why has everyone already released theirs and we don’t have APR. I’m still waiting so is all of Audizine.

rokan81 ahh my mistake, I switched up ABT and Apr in my mind. According to my friend who built the car, Apr is very specific about who uses their products, so they have a tight circle of authorized dealers to install them

Adam Bornstein Yup ABT is the Big Euro based tuner. They do good things over there too. Ya the APR dealership friendly network may be slowing things down as well, but none the less APR had the current RS3 world record so that speaks for itself. I like IROZ and euro code myself.

Slipping the clutch absolutely protects the gearbox at the cost of the clutch packs. If you want to talk about the most extreme example, imagine a manual transmission vehicle with a flywheel. You clutch in, build up however many RPM's you find works best for launching. You've got a flywheel maybe 20 lbs on a lighter weight setup, maybe as much as nearly 40 lbs on some dual mass thing. That's spinning at 4k RPM'S along with the crankshaft and connected pistons. That represents a LOT of stored up energy. Assuming the clutch has infinite friction (it doesn't) and you side-step the clutch you basically have infinite torque if the whole system is inelastic. But it is elastic so the crank twists, driveshafts twist, input and output shafts twist etc. In reality if you do something like that you tear teeth off gears, shear keys, break axles/half shafts etc. Thankfully on launch a 2WD car will usually break traction, that's a fuse if you will. But on an AWD car ALL of that energy makes it to the ground with very little wheelspin. So in the launch case at least a bit of slip can dramatically reduce the torque peak on the driveline at lunch. On the upshifts I suspect it's just a matter of being less hard on everything I dunno. I have this car, it's an amazing machine. I can afford the car but I doubt I'll tune it (most of my Audi's have been heavily tuned) because Audi doesn't f'around anymore with warranties and apparently the long block for the aluminum version of the 2.5 comes with a 30k price tag if you want new in box...eeeep!

Miguel Relvas I dunno power is a funny thing, you get numb to it. The facelift RS3 is factory rated 400 HP, they make more like 430 HP when you dyno them. Audi sandbags badly; they call it 4 seconds naught to sixty, Car & Driver say it’s more like 3.5. Albeit expensive for a small sedan it often feels greater than the sum of its parts. Engine is amazing, stock sports exhaust is like wow...it doesn’t suck! It had way less AudiSteer than most Quattro cars, really love it. As for tuning yeah, you flash the car there’s a register that advances. They want to see TD=0, if you get flagged TD=1 it means the ECU was flashed by an outside agency and then may deny your warranty for the engine and associated components. Too rich for my blood, that said seeing the phenomenal potential of this car and the tendency to get numb to power it’s hard to resist lol.

Seems like the torque limiter in the trans ecu is programmed to save the box from self destruct. Good to see. Clutches don't wear out easy on DSGs but oil does break down quicker due to heat

@@sdsupratt the five cylinder is one of the most reliable engines from any brand. VOLVO also helped develop it. Can make well over 500 on all stock internals. My Audi is almost to 300,000 miles on the original engine.

Jordan Erickson I am a master mechanic and I see Audi come into my shop and they all have the same plastic bs that break and fall apart with way too little mileage. I see these customers faces when they are hit with repeatedly high repair bills. The sad truth is that euro cars are very high maintenance and lose a lot of value very quickly. I’m interested to see how these rs3 hold up. And rs3 being treated like these guys are treating them isn’t going to last long. No car can stand up to this 18yr old first car owner style of abuse

I’m having a hard time choosing my next ride. I currently have a 2012 mustang 5.0, 2014 evo x gsr and my 2018 Dodge Charger rt/scat pack just got totaled. I also have a 2019 ford raptor coming mid jan. I’m so tired of my evo. It’s just too slow. Audi RS- love the way it looks. Not exactly happy with the stock power. I’m looking for 650hp M4- again, love the way it looks. Not happy with the stock power Charger hellcat- just enough power. I can see how putting power down might be an issue and cornering will suck. The car that I know gives me exactly what I want is the 2017+ camaro ZL1. I just can’t because I’m my opinion, it’s booty fuckin ugly. Thanks for the video. I’m going to contact Eurocode and get estimates on both, the rs3 and m4. I just know that I wouldn’t be happy with the stock power.

Used to own an rs3, 850hp is absolute load of crap the gear box will not work properly after approx 500hp, so there is no way the running gear is stock in that car, must be modified to the max.
