Can you make a video showing all the parts you need to replace your ilder pulley i think i may have lost a part when replacing mine
@almagam2099 Жыл бұрын
Sorry. My d21 doesn't have an idler pulley. Just the tensioner pulleys for the power steering and ac compressor.

What are the Dayco part numbers for the pulleys

Here's the link for the site where I got the pulleys at. Click on your specific year make and model. They should have what you need. www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,1986,d21+pickup,2.4l+l4,1210835

Thanks for the great video! I am replacing a tensioner pulley on my 89 Pathfinder but don't know what kind of nut to use - where were you able to find the stock nut for yours? Thanks!
@almagam20993 жыл бұрын
I got the stock nuts from the 93 d21 that I got the entire power steering and AC system from! The nuts are 14 millimeter! I'd say look at a junkyard for one! Dosen't need too be d21 either! Look at any Nissan car/truck that uses the same tensioner pulley assembly as the d21! Or go to NAPA auto parts store. They should carry the right size nut! But take a spare nut and or the tensioner bolt too use as reference!

2:00 does the bolt need to be tighten all the way?
@Lz999J3 жыл бұрын
Or should it be loose like the nut
@almagam20993 жыл бұрын
@@Lz999J do you mean the tensioner bolt or the bolt that holds the pulley!?? -tensioner bolt: shouls be tight enough that there's just a little bit of slack on the belt! -pulley bolt: should be tight enough that the pulley can still turn freely! Hope that helps!
@Lz999J3 жыл бұрын
@@almagam2099 so I loosened both of them up and the squealing keeps happening but stops after a couple seconds, the belts have already been replaced. Any ideas?
@almagam20993 жыл бұрын
@@Lz999Jdo you know the condition of your pulleys? Easiest way too check them is too remove them completely! Kinda pinch the bearings with two fingers! Spin the pulley with other hand! If the pulleys are good, they should easily spin freely! If they're bad or going bad, they'll be hard too spin!

One of my pulleys is super squeaky but i don’t know which one. I want to replace both are they the same size?
@almagam2099 Жыл бұрын
I think they're different sizes. As long as you know your specific year, make, model and the specific pulleys you want to replace...your auto parts store should be able too get them. I got mine at this site: www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,1986,d21+pickup,2.4l+l4,1210835

There's two! One for power steering and one for the AC system!

So what about the pulley you install to tighten the pump belt and the brackets, did you get them off a pathfinder or does it come already on the hardbody?
@almagam20994 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! The pulley and brackets all came from the 93 d21!
