I just picked up a second harness from the junkyard to cut apart, that way I don't have to chop up my original in case I ever try again to get the EFI working worth a **** lol. I would think as long as you have the inertia switch still working on the fuel pump, it will be fine to be running all the time. @HarryRenner-h9q7 ай бұрын
The AODs are the over drive automatic transmissions. and some of the earlier three speed and AOD automatic transmissions don't require the TPS. they have a TV pressure cable similar to what was used on Chrysler torqueflite transmission's. and they require fairly precise adjustment to work properly. earlier C6 automatic transmissions's had a vacuum modulator to control shift points. and a kick down linkage to control passing gear kick down. myself I prefer to use the dura spark distributor. because it can be matched with an MSD ignition module. because it uses the identical pick-up as MSD, and it's a true CDI ignition. and a person doesn't have the fitment issues associated with the HEI distributor. and because the HEI distributor can have premature distributor shaft bushing failure. because of all the weight up high on the shaft where the mechanical advance is. but other than that this is the cleanest and best EFI to carburetor conversion I have seen on YT. awesome job indeed. oh yeah I was curious did you do anything to the exhaust system?
@CCAutoWorks7 ай бұрын
I learned about a week ago about using the factory distributor with the msd wish I would have went that route only if I would have known the exhaust is long tube headers 2 1/2 pipe into an x-pipe then into a dual in dual out 2 chamber muffler
@HarryRenner-h9q7 ай бұрын
@@CCAutoWorks That sounds good for the exhaust system. I have heard of times where the cat can be restrictive after doing a carburetor swap. especially if it has been overheated by the failed EFI system. because the substrate gets melted and causes a restriction or breaks up and plugs up the muffler.

How exactly did you wire up the distributor? I have a 94 f150 351w my dad and I just carb swapped and can't get it to fire.

Great video. I'm in the middle of converting my 96 F150, and according to my door tag I have the A4R70W transmission, my question is what if anything do I need to do different as far as electrical. Sorry if that sounds dumb, I've never really worked on ford's of this generation. Thanks!
@CCAutoWorks2 жыл бұрын
From what I know the 4r70w gets expensive to to do this swap you have to put a throttle body position sensor on the carb on the choke side and there's a company that makes a control box that will run the trans but last I checked it was over $500
@philliphill3787 Жыл бұрын
Run a c6 like I am I you want reliability over fuel mileage. AOD if you want an auto but hydraulic control. Get a controller for the 4r70w or swap to a 5 speed.

Does that fuel pressure regulator bring the pressure from 40-50 psi down to 6 psi?... I've checked around and only been able to find an aeromotive regulator for about $315 to accomplish that...curious to know if yours is still working good...thanks!

I did this on 93 f150 with same Holley regulator and found the internal shuttle valve in the fuel pump housing would not return until about 50 psi. I could not regulate the pressure to 6 psi.@@CCAutoWorks

I’ve got an 85 302 efi non ho and I’m looking to carb swap I wanted to know if you had the link to the fuel pressure regulator you installed ? Thank you in advance
On an 85 there should be two pumps a low pressure in tank pump and a high pressure one on the inside of the frame you should be able to just unplug the pump on the frame and just run the tank pump with no need of a pressure regulator I've done it like that on an 86 I just teed the fuel lines where it would still return the extra fuel
