Well at least it looks like the birds weren't dark berry eaters or it could be more "colorful" with required language! Question on painting from a novice. It it generally three coats of base color and two coats of clear. Is that the rule of thumb? You are getting there. I.G.

Base is so thin - you may get by with two but three is fine as well. Most times I start by hitting areas of prime or edges then go from there. Clear typically 2 coasts one lighter then followed by a heavier gloss out coat is more than enough.
