I’ve never seen this channel before and I’ve been watching KZbin and auto body vids for more years than I can count. This gentleman is humble, not a loudmouth and spitting facts. I have different compressors, but for mid size jobs I use a 20 gallon husky from Home Depot. I spray clear in the mid 30’s for PSI with my 1.3 Iwata and I can hold the gun wide open nonstop and it and I never lose air pressure. It builds enough pressure that it’ll still shut off from building enough air. Honestly , you could use a ten gallon compressor to paint a hood, or a few panels at a time. The only things I’d say is run the 1/2 inch air hose keep the hose as short as possible use the bigger fittings, make sure you get a compressor that takes oil, make sure you use a moisture trap before the gun…….. always make sure you open the bleed valve on the compressor when your done using it. Most of the guys on KZbin even the diy guys make a lot of this stuff sound wayyy more complicated and confusing than it really is. Spraying is the easy part. The bodywork and prep is the hard part.

I've been binge watching your videos. After watching another painters' channel. He's got a million dollar booth and arsenal of paint guns that cost more than my cars. You just get it done! I've been using the old Harbor freight pro gun for projects for 10 years. I normally shoot single stage urethane and it does a great job. But I'm on the fence now to get that Spectrum or Get the Astro. I see these other guys with booths and fancy climate controls and $800 guns they have orange peel, fisheyes, and dirt nibs everywhere. You spray in your little garage and it looks like glass. I did the roof of my 63 GMC panel truck in my driveway under a canopy. Great channel! You are the U.P. King!

I've tried this crap 2 years ago before with a cattle trailer, Chassis Saver, SprayIt 1.7mm siphon gun, and an old Champion 30 gal. air compressor. It only managed to spray half of the rear door before running out of air. I spent most of my time waiting on the compressor to refill. Ended up using my Fuji turbine system that I use for woodworking since I had no other options at the time and it worked out better than the SprayIt LVLP kit. I finally bought an Industrial Air 60gal with 13.4cfm @ 40psi that can run an HVLP gun and haven't touched the SprayIt LVLP spray guns for more than a year. On top of that, they spray like a glorified rattle can but that's just my two cents and your ACTUAL experience may vary since the compressor I used was built back in the 1940s. Just a heads up, California Air Tools who sells the SprayIt LVLP kits has really poor customer service so if you run into a problem they typically don't respond and will leave you hanging just so you know 😉

That was crazy man! It should be noted that you are obviously a talented painter. I’m shocked how well that came out without a dryer, but I guess credit the drain drip tip. Your technique looked great!

Thanks I appreciate that and appreciate you checking out the video…I’ve always liked letting my clear air dry rather than forced dry just seems to allow the clear to flow out better in my opinion

Couple months ago you talked about the spectrum HVLP, Harbor Frieght had a sale for 100 dollars I took your advice and bought it, tried it out clearing a front bumper the other day and it did a excellent job. Also took your tip about using microfiber clouth to wipe down base coat before spraying clear. Thanks so much for helping out with your vidios.

Was it you that had a motorguard filter in your home set-up?. I had a 2 stage filter with desiccant beads, but added the motorguard filter near my paint room. Now i'm not seeing any water coming thru so pretty happy with it so far👍👍👍

Thanks for sharing this knowledge. I thought I needed a 60 gallon $compressor $ but 30 will do. I am going to spray a 2015 Dodge Challenger rear quarter panel with my 30 gallon compressor. No excuses gotta get my project done. I have hope now 🙏 thanks

You’re welcome Jeremy and your 30 gallon will be plenty for knocking out that quarter panel 💯

Hey man I've been using the same compressor for years And it'sade me alot of money, but I did ad a water trap and oil separator to it, I've never got water in my lines in almost 10 years and over 100 paint and mechanic jobs. But man you did a great job!!
@UndergroundPaintKing3 жыл бұрын
Thanks I appreciate you!…I don’t usually use the small compressor to paint so I definitely should have had things set up better but I definitely will have something set up for next time…again I appreciate you checking out out the video

And I’d like to add that the equipment is not what makes you good at this. It definitely helps but these results are 100% because this man has taken time he’s prepared the vehicle before the paint job i personally detrim vehicles but the point is take your time do the steps and prep yourself before you shoot amazing job my guy 🤘🤘🤘
@UndergroundPaintKing3 жыл бұрын
You’re right and I like to break vehicles down also but you get some customers that don’t want to pay for everything…but if you take your time you can get great results and if you have even better equipment you can get better results so the point I’m trying to get across is no matter what level you are on you can still do this kind of work…I appreciate you checking out the video 💯🤛🏾

Great stuff! I painted my MR2 (admittedly a tiny car) with a 20 year-old 33 gallon Craftsman compressor. Filtration is huge, since the compressor is going to run a lot and the heat will cause condensarion in the tank. There are lots of good videos on KZbin about how to build copper cooling manifolds. Definitely worth the trouble.

Thanks GoalieLife I appreciate you checking out the video and I agree that having the right filtration system is worth it!
