Hi, Luke! You look relaxed ( and fairly tanned) after your holidays. 🎉 Answering your questions: I have slaved away for years correcting writing with a correction code and recorrecting it once or twice, and also filling up report cards, answering about 35 questions about each student, plus writing a comment that shouldn't repeat any of the previous answers, also including the marks on oral English, grammar, writing, listening and reading. I have passed out twice: at the age of 17, after travelling about 700 km to enroll at university and having a blood test, and when I was operated on, after receiving anesthesia at 35. About your phone: in Argentina, a teen went to bed near his phone while he was charging it and it caught fire and burnt the boy's legs. Your case is different because your phone wasn't plugged in. Of course, I would be as annoyed as you are about the swollen battery 😮 I love your rambling episodes. Thanks a lot for your kindness ❤

After overthinking my comment on episode 897 and reading Ally’s response, I feel the need to share an additional thought. In my “professional enthusiasm”, I failed to fully appreciate the author's engagement and Luke’s thoughtful and nuanced introduction to this sensitive topic. What I wanted to say is this: If you are dealing with a stammer, don’t give up on your dreams. Don’t stop looking for a qualified therapist! You can also find a partner and friends who appreciate you, as well as a job that matches your talents. Depending on which country you live in, it may be more difficult to find the right support, but it is possible. You could even become a famous actor, or a pioneer of speech therapy like Van Riper. Maybe not a king like George VI-but who would want that, anyway?

Looking forward to your introduction of Shakespeare in your podcast, as you mentioned in this last episode, which I REALLY LOVED ❤ It would be great if you could start with Hamlet and tell us which is your personal interpretation of the famous lines "To be or not to be. That is the question " which BTW I find almost impossible to translate in other languages, including mine. Who knows what Shakespeare really had in mind when he wrote that. Do you? Thank you in advance for making English happen and unfold in front of us avid learners so effortlessly 🙏 👋

As I was once walking down a street, I saw a grey, tall pole. They were using it to hold an electric cable or something similar. About one or two meters above the ground, there were streaks of oil or some paint on it. They were darker than the color of the pole and gave the impression that they were splashes of freshly spilled water. My friend was quick to comment, saying that it looked like 'It was a big dog.' This episode of yours reminds me a 'big dog' in the positive sense of the word. Big dogs are usually educative and interesting, aren't they? Thanks!"
