2:05 if it isn't patched yet, you can easily dodge any IR missile in a comet or weeb comet by setting the throttle to 0. It literally makes you invisible to Fox 2s.

We need "makeshift countermeasure pods" for all jets. Yes they didn't have them in real life but there are currently over 140 jets (yes real) which have to face high G IR missiles while not having any countermeasures. And it is also not realistic for these jets to have to fight against these missiles. And if these jets were to somehow find themselves in a conflict fighting against such missiles I am sure that the ground crew would improvise some countermeasures, especialy since countermeasures are basicly just a box of flares with some wirering connecting them to a button in the cockpit anyway. I still remember all the fun I had with the MIG-15 and Sabre. Being able to extend out, keep energy and all that good stuff, it was so much fun. We could have all that fun back to some degree.

That thing is very much fun. If you just concentrate on not going towards people with all-aspects, you will mostly be all right, and you can out-trun practically anything horizontally. The fact that it hold energy very well also comes in handy, with all the seagulls in 9.7 turnfighting you.

I was so lucky to get to grind through (and enjoy) the MiG-15s and 17 before the missile situation got too bad. I still remember encountering harriers when they were new and the lethality of their SRAAMs was insane. I really can't imagine trying to fly against A-10s and such at this point with the korean war jets.

When I was grinding Germany, I used the Sabre and I had pretty big problem with harriers, Su-25s and A10s but I got through it after I started using the unguided missiles as flares, I thought it would save me only in headons but, oh boy, how many times did it save me from rear aspect.

As someone who was trying to help a friend grind the T-2 in while in Premium sabres, it was an absolute nightmare. Just staying away from A-10s and Su-25s by at least 9km away. Also got teamkilled a few times. I used the prem Sabre to grind my T-2, but that was 2 years ago, so it was a lot less hectic. Most unfortunate for the Sabre.

If you turn your engine off in the head on early enough and have the alt you can dive to the shallow left or right and then pull back into the missle. It won’t be able to lock on a straight head on with engine turned off until about .5-.8 kms. If there’s multiple obviously you’re kind of screwed.

The latest Aeritalia 104s have the highest thrust weight ratio of any aircraft and the F-5EM has a twr of 7 to 1 and a maximum resistance of 16Gs, it's the aircraft that can out dogfight the F-22 raptor in a same skill level scenario.

I enjoyed playing Sabres and last month I spaded the Blue Impulse Sabre (tech tree F-86F-40 for Japan) when it went 9.0 and imo this feels like the Sabre I should really play ever since Gaijin changed the FM of all the Sabres since last year (?) because of those leading edge slats. But the downside of this is just the BR and the powercreep. This thing cannot hold on its own, sure you can do some wacky shit in your favor against like a MiG-21 or a MiG-19 but in reality those planes will really screw the Sabre all day. And most of the time you cant do anything to stuff that either is more faster or literally better missiles. So if you want to play Sabres like this or any of the CL-13s, bless your soul.

By the way 30g is not what makes a missile dangerous it's how fast it is and how long it can burn for as if it could pull 100gs+ when it's out of gas it will just fall to the ground hamlessly.

Everything down to 8.3 is hell. Deciding to just stay 10km from any plane with 30g all aspects works fine for yourself but it basically ensures you won't have a major impact on the game. Every nation has like one rank 6 jet with flares and it's usually on a mediocre airframe, just feels like target practice for premiums.

It really sucks tho, I Main Britain and fly America as my second and just unlocked my first Saber, and even though it doesn't face all aspects even at 8.3 it's a struggle with how often you get up tiered into supersonics. And then there's Britain, who's entire tech tree in the 8.3-10.0 range is over tiered (except like the gr3 harrier and lightning maybe). No flares for the 9.0 and 10.0 hunter, which are subsonic with no missiles (the 10.0 gets sraams), no (search) radar, no rwr, and no flares. Which basically means your crippled from the start being slow deaf blind and only having your amputated nubins as weapons. The jaguar at 9.7 is pretty similar too, but it gets decent missiles (aim9g) and supersonic flight, but still no flares. All this to say, in that br range I only play the swift f.7 and harrier gr3 because of the matchmaking and overtiering british planes face (also when's the last time you've seen more than one hunter in a match)

Bro... I understand you so well. I am playing since 2014 or smth and each year i have about twice a year 2-3 weeks of hardcore playing the game, until i get to the same point... BR Compression, i love cold war/modern ground, but it's the same there. Past 2 weeks i played almost exclusively air RB and i am at tier 3-4 on us, ger and ussr... But since i played for so long i have some high tier prems and bonus vehicles and i really want to enjoy high tier but i cant in the current br... It's fking terrible matchmaking and i get against aim9l or r60m most of the time when i have some stupid r3s and no flares... It's disgusting. I played hundreds of games in the JASDF Sabre at 9.3 and it is without a doubt my best K:D jet, by a LOT, down at 9.0, even further from the dingbats in AV8s it’s an absolute treat - it’s insane for anyone to say this is a bad time! If you’re having bad luck in the JASDF (or the other 9.0 Sabres) just meditate a bit, get a cup of tea, then sit back down and get back to it: no matter the BR you ARE the air superiority machine. And I’m no super ace, I’m an old guy and my war thunder stat says I am 69% for Air RB! Just barely above average.
