THIS has been the root cause of my errant shots this whole time. I knew I was steep and then standing up through impact but could not for the life of me figure out why. I had to laugh when you said “the most common thing I see is…” and you matched my bad swing immediately. This video is exactly what I needed to see, cheers mate!

Just what I needed. My ball strike is amazing one day and thin and shanky the next. Great drills that I will now use as part of my practice routine.

Another excellent video. Not an area that is talked about that much but you have provided a clear explanation of the problem, the consequences and drills to correct it. Really enjoying, learning and improving from your channel.

You always define a problem and how to fix it, excellent teacher.

Great video. Just watched video back of a couple of my filmed swings from my round last week and I’m doing it exactly as you said not to, coming in too steep and struggling to square the club before impact, so pushing right. Will work on those drills. Thanks.

As someone who is guilty of going across the line, I'd also say most are addressing the ball with the wrists in flexion rather than ulnar, which really promotes a wristy action & cupped wrists at the top of transition and well we all know the rest.

"Internal trail shoulder rotation" has apparently been a big issue for me. Thanks for putting a name to it

having fixed this flaw, best to have a full swing

could you please explain steep/shallow a little better in a video please..you put concepts across so succinctly! i.e. is too steep stabbing at the ball and is shallowing out more thru the ball? i have made huge gains following you but slide back into getting ball bound (stabbing at the ball)...i think the steep/shallow concept is what i may be missing?

I tried and tried to stop getting across the line and failed until I realised that it was due to an overswing. This in turn was caused by a steep backswing and letting my left foot come off the floor too much, with my left knee kicking in. Once I got the club more on plane in the takeaway and stabilised my left leg the across the line went away.

I videoed my swing and I got steep at the start of the downswing because I would overswing mainly because of my wrists, but I didn't get across the line
