I use a ten man unit in hypercrypt with voidblades and particle caster and I love them. Deathmarks either dead right away or did no damage but these guys can do actions and even take heavily wounded tanks out with their particle casters and and between that and their void blades that's 70 attacks that I love.

I find them a bit fragile for the cost, but they can hit decently well into marine bodies. I’ve tried out units of 10, but I’m finding myself putting them in 5s now, in Obeisance Phallanx

You say we know your playstyle but we never see you play! Would be awesome to see you talk through a game and how you play it.

Been a while since a report as im refurbing the studio. But judging from verbal tactics I’m all about the scoring, holding primary and nabbing secondary

I see Ophydians as their closest competition. Both seem designed to serve as backline raiders/mid-cost action monkeys. Ophydians are a tiny bit cheaper, have slightly more utility for scoring secondaries due to redeploy, and that one turn of burst damage, but Praetorians make make up for that with slightly better durability, standard damage output, and as you point out don't get completely locked down if they're engaged in melee like our other deep strike units tend to. They're just generally better fighters/primary contestants (especially in OP/Hypercrypt), so I don't think the extra 10 points is that unreasonable tbh. The other deepstrike options are indeed more cost efficient for actions, but between their lower durability and damage output there's a good chance they won't survive the first turn. You're also missing out on their reactive fire if you yeet them into the enemy deployment zone.

They are for scoring, surviving, running around tagging tanks and killing enemy action monkeys. Only unit we have that can do all of those in one package.

Honestly think the only question needed for these guys is: Why on earth do they not have an invul save? The finest warriors of the Necrontyr and my experience is that they get blown off the table.

Since their release as cool as they are they have always been overcoasted. They really need either a invun or a FNP i feel.

This, a FNP of 5+ would have made them better, alternatively a DMG of 3 for the rod of covenant and DMG of 2 for voidblades at their current price would have been perfectly justified. You know they will get wiped out but anything they touch would die.

I've learned so much about necrons that I should have a necron army by now

got a battleforce box and it has 10 of these or lychguard. before the video I thought 5 and 5 and in the future I can get another box to fill out which one I like more. but after this video I feel like 10 lychguard is better and I can get a praetorian box if I want like next December

I'm planning to kitbash 5 praetorians with warrior legs (I have my reasons to keep 5 warriors) with the christmas box. Also anyone got tips to magnetize shields on lychguard when they're using the scythes? I'm thinking of cutting the arm off the shield and just put a magnet there and on an elbow on a lychguard.

There is a good video by IDIC Beer 40k - Necrons and More on how to magnetize lychguard/praetorians with all weapon options.

These are the next on my list. Heyo points aside if a necron lord had these units as there main force do you think that would be viable amongst the Necrontier?
