KZbin has made this an age restricted video!! Watch it and let me know if you think it should be Rated R - 18+
@Qaptyl2 жыл бұрын
it featured the noose knot which youtube associates with suicide (the staff watch too much drama movies or something)

Crazy nanny policies!
@haroldkahl46102 жыл бұрын
The word noose seems to trigger the algorithm. If you had called it a slipknot there wouldn't have been a problem. If someone were really looking for a knot to hang themselves, I doubt they would be deterred by that warning.
@JasonsKnotChannel2 жыл бұрын
@@haroldkahl4610 True but what’s crazy is that I challenged the restriction with KZbin (through the appropriate channels) and they still found it to contain “restricted content”. Problem with calling it a slip knot is that the “Slip Knot” is technically a different knot.

Has one that looks similar to a noose....call the FBI. Jeez. It's nerf nation. Sad times we live in. My banner said it may contain images of self harm or self injury.

thanks for the video, it's very helpful to see your hands tying the knots instead of the typical instructions that just show each step

Awesome! The Daisy Chain knot is perfect in my garden. I’m using Its loops to give support, using ties, to tomato plant limbs burdened with fruit. 24 quick thumb-sized loops and a clove hitch, and I’m in business. Just awesome. Thanks.

That’s awesome! Thanks. Comments like yours make it worth making these videos

How can there possibly exist so many knots? And yet, here we are. I'm up to 17 knots, and that's before viewing your video of 24 (knot that I'm counting, but still, that will be 41 knots to master). Knots learn she must. Thank you Jason! (and Pandemic, without whose support I would not have the house arrest luxury of whiling away my days a-knotting)

Figure 8 is my favorite. Especially when tied with a loop to make a loop at the end of a rope or in the middle of a rope

I use the daisy chain to manage one of my exterior heavy-duty extension cords. I'm ambivalent about it in that regard. Lots of sources online recommend that saying it doesn't tangle like just looping the cord up, but it does still tangle (just not as bad). The best for that is the "roadie loop", and that's what I use now for new extension cords. I like the Alpine Butterfly a lot too and use it quite a bit. Another benefit is it doesn't weaken the rope nearly as much as most other knots. It's one of the best in that regard. Very easy to untie too, even after it's been heavily loaded.

I'm surprised at how easy the Alpine Butterfly is to untie, yet it's a very strong knot.

Had forgotten about the constrictor hitch. Damn, haven't tied one of those in years. I'd rather use the Midshipman's hitch than the Taut Line hitch - very similar, but crossing the second loop over the first makes it more secure.

Absolutely a great share, thanks. Heaving knot good for a grip - I am going to use this for my lifeline release lanyard to open my lifeline spring clasp.
@Rooster-fo7lg3 жыл бұрын
The truckers hitch is the one knot to know. If you can tie one you have your bases pretty much covered. You can do a couple of hitch variations, you can tie a loop and you have a system that can be adapted to various applications.

Hey Jason, awesome mate, great presentation and clear instructions. At last I am able to follow along a knot tutorial. Any chance of demonstrating the Lightermans (Tugmans) Hitch?
@keggerous Жыл бұрын
The Alpine Butterfly is probably the most useful knot I know. I've used it probably hundreds of times to tie the end of a rope back to itself for securing things. To hang things from string. To use as a foot loop to climb up a rope.... Man, it's such a useful knot.

Yes, it's very useful

question: are the 8 and 9 videos a summary of the previous shown videos? 8 knot video followed this trend. the 9 knot video did not have any individual videos preceding the video.

The Taut-line hitch is also known as the Midshipman's Hitch. Other names include Adjustable hitch, Rigger's hitch, Tent-line hitch, and Tent hitch.
