💜For me, my journey of minimalism started after my husband passed. He had 5 tool boxes. All of which were empty - because the tools were all over the house and garage. I felt my brain explode. :) I gathered all the tools, laid them out in the living room, matched the sets to the boxes and gave them away. I kept one. Which I'm also still decluttering. It's taken me 5 years so far to empty our a house full of things I will never use that can find homes elsewhere. It truly is constant. Just keep at it. Keep going. Don't let anyone push you off track.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey ❤️It's beautiful how all our journeys to get to minimalism are different and yet we can all see how beneficial it has been in our lives! Thanks so much again for sharing your experiences with us ❤️❤️

You’re right about buy quality. My mom would always tell me in Spanish, “ lo barato sale caro “ Which in a sense means, cheaper ends up being more expensive. Not for everything but many things.

I love your wooden rack by the front door as well as the hanging hooks and the long table behind your sofa, the night stands by your bed and the fabulous wardrobe for your clothing.... So many useful simple attractive ideas. I'm retired and recovering from a stroke and have multiple health issues. I can no longer power through housecleaning and organising and have felt total despair as I struggle to use even the aids the hospital gave me because of all the wretched clutter. I was terrified of having to live in a nursing home. Now I've binge watched your videos until I think I can do this! I may be slow but I now feel hopeful I can stay in my own home with my dog. My brother William is going to make wooden things for our new look house! Thank you so so much for your kind inspiration and encouragement! May God bless you and your husband and daughter and dogs. Love Vera in Northern Ireland ❤

Hey Becky, thank you for the motivation 😊 Me & my partner are currently renting a less than ideal place and whilst I'm grateful for a roof over my head I feel constantly stressed by the lack of space & storage and although we don't own all that much, this makes the space look cluttered and messy. Despite this we have continued to declutter while we look for a new home and have just started our 20th donation bag in just under a year 🙌 so thank you for being there and reminding me that it's always possible to improve a space and feel better wherever you live ❤️

Love these videos. ❤ What works for you is a lesson in itself. I’ve made the mistake of switching storage around and buying new storage solutions only for them to be more of a hinderance than not having them at all. It’s okay to try something and for it to not work out. It’s definitely a journey not a destination.

♥ That's so interesting how your graph resembles a mountain. Decluttering is so hard, like climbing a mountain, but once you finally reach the summit, the descent is much easier. There are still peaks and valleys along the way but it's definitely worth the journey.

❤❤❤ Thank you, Becky, for your fresh motivation! ❤❤❤ I'm back from vacation and I must confess I had a relapse seeing all the nice things in South France. Being at a brocante / fleemarket with these beautiful things of the Provence is really rough. Maybe a special video how to behave on vacation, would help. 😂 Just kidding! Have a nice week! ❤❤❤

I can relate so much to this video…especially the questioning process. I’ve been doing this as I go through my things and I’ve asked myself several times “why in the world have I been saving this” and “do I really need X amount of this item?” I completely agree with buying quality over quantity. Also, I always only allowed my kids to do 1 extra curricular activity as well. When I was teaching it was always shocking to me the amount of after school activities kids had. So many children don’t really get any downtime to just relax and recharge and just be kids. And, so many have lost the ability to entertain themselves because they never have the opportunity to be bored. It’s sad. Just my 2 cents lol. Thanks for always inspiring me on my journey.❤❤❤

Wow yes! I love it when my daughter says she’s bored because it’s usually the beginning of her best ideas! Like the time we made a snake out of rocks and painted it 😍 our kids need down time, alone time, calm time just like we do ❤️❤️ love it!!

Thanks for these reminders. Today, I was working on setting up a new garden bed and I thought it would be nice to have a pair of scissors ✂️ in the garage to use for cutting cardboard and opening bags of garden supplies... but after listening to your video, I realised that I can make due with the Exacto blades that my husband has in his tool kit. It's a learning process for me. I thought I needed the scissors, but because I'm not going to be setting up beds every day, I can just make due with what I already have. If I really want/need a pair, then I can pop off my muddy boots and grab the kitchen scissors.

Changing careers from teaching in the school setting and moving into something unknown but I have years of "school stuff". Because I don't know what's next I do find myself holding on to stuff but I'm moving forward slowly and thats okay! Since I am in that space between working and retirement years close, I find myself saying I don't want to invest financially into stuff if I should need it BUT cognitively I know that I don't want to invest time in keeping stuff either. So yesterday I started with pens, pencils, markers, highlighters and SCISSORS. I cleaned out a bunch and for now kept the best of the best with little duplicates. Sounds silly but as teachers know you put back a lot of money into the classroom. Thank you for these videos and helping us to see the layers of this process in real ways ❤
