According to Recteq they probe used a calculation for inside grill temp so it isn’t going to be accurate to a secondary probe. So not even 3 minutes in and all I hear how bad this grill is and how you have to fix, tweak, compensate or just look the other way. Glad I didn’t buy one of these for my dad because I’d be pissed.

It is a shitty grill! Mine has never held a constant temperature and finally melted down after the fire traveled from the fire pot to the hopper. Buy something else! Also, our BFG2500 has had issues since we bought it. Terrible quality! The service department will mail all of the parts you need. Most of the time, they’re the wrong parts but hey! They’re answering the phone! Their grills just suck!

That’s frustrating for sure.

Bought the Bullseye as a second grill. Added the Aura cast iron grate and a grease drain bucket. I like it, but I agree with you, this should not be your only grill. Seems like grills/smokers, all have their place (specialty), but this is a great grill for the price and does a lot of things very well. Definitely worth a look since a lot of 22" grill parts interchange with it. You get a lot of flexibility.

I need to buy that grate!!

Where and How did you add a grease drain bucket? Lack of a grease bucket to me is a major design flaw. I've seen people use drip pans and even put a mat under the Bullseye. Using a mat is total B.S..

I put a pan underneath the meat on low and slow cooks to catch the grease. Not a big deal as I’ve done this on my Weber, PK and UDS. As for high heat grilling it’s not necessary in my opinion as I have not had any flare ups in 9 months.

@@wahapete About 2" above and 1.5" left of center of the firebox, (there is an open space there on the bottom). I drilled a 1/4" hole to accept a 1/4" x 3" eye bolt that was opened up to act as a hook. 2 holes about 3/8" wide were placed on each side (of the bolt) parallel to the firebox. The small drip bucket came from the paint dept. at Home Depot for about $3.00. I used a wing nut on top, and a nut/washer on the bottom of the eyebolt to lock it in place. Was height adjusted to hang about 1/2" below the firebox. There is a raised lip around the firebox, stay outside of that lip. Not a perfect solution, but better than nothing. Also bleeds a little air in from the bottom which is not a bad thing.

Thank you for all your videos, it really helped me make a decision on this grill. One quick question, how is clean up on the bullseye? Do you have to vacuum out any ash from the pellets? Thanks!
@mikebowerstv3 жыл бұрын
Yes about every ten cooks (sooner if they are long cooks) I’ll vacuum it out and clear the vents. Enjoy your grill.

So I was watching your video to see how it compares to a Big Green egg I would have liked more demonstration on the grill and less conversation about how much you like what you have
@mikebowerstv3 жыл бұрын
I have plenty of videos demonstrating the grill. Check out my Bullseye Playlist.

My friend has this grill and now I'm thinking of getting one. The power going out shouldn't stop you from having this as your only grill. I mean come on, if my power goes out the last thing I'm thinking about is grilling.

Lots of electric stoves and ovens out here in Texas. If power goes out you need something.

Yeah that’s running other things in this situation. Plus I will never not have a charcoal or wood burning grill.
