🤔 I wonder if this is a problem I’m having bc I keep getting single strand knots. I just noticed yesterday after adding a 3rd filter to my shower (water is so hard here that they add so much chlorine it’s like a gas chamber 😩) my hair suddenly started behaving so friendly I was worried that someone put a relaxer in my conditioner lol. I’m going to book a trim now smh

I believe what you are saying. I moved from Virginia to Oklahoma. The water is so hard that it dried up my hair and skin. Moisturizing has been a troublesome experience since I've been here.

I don't have alopecia but i do have scalp eczema ... there is a liquid cortizone that is specifically made for the scalp the brand is scalpicin its like $8 at walmart. No idea if it would help or not but cortizone is specifically made to reduce inflammation so ot might be worth a try. It comes in a bottle with a small nozzle and applies just like a scalp oil.

Love your videos. I know how you feel about curly cuts, but do you have an opinion on going to the barber for trims and shaping with clippers instead? Do you think it’s a healthy hair choice ?
@AfrikanHairGod
@AfrikanHairGod 4 ай бұрын
Barbers don't trim, they cut. If you are looking for shaping that's fine but they aren't cutting for health

My crown area broke off on the left side this year I know the culprit is internal (my diet) in the process of changing. Doing a 90 day finger detangle challenge noticed a difference with my hair. Like watching the long videos too. 😊

Love her hair. I typically get breakage around my parts that I put my hair in for detangling. Do you have any tips to prevent this?
@AfrikanHairGod
@AfrikanHairGod 3 ай бұрын
It sounds like you need to be more mindful about keeping your partings separate. Sometimes strands and flow in between parts as we are styling and handling it. Be more considerate about being careful of your sectioning to prevent this from happening

I would love to see the entire service! ps, As one who also suffers from... let's say, 'dermatological disturbances,' dr's don't be knowing SHIT.😅🙄 If you gotta know the Latin name, they can't do nothing for you. Like, with my issue, I did the exact opposite of what they said and it's going swimmingly. 🤣 In your case, if you can't figure out how to stop it, maybe focus more on healing up faster. You gotta come at it from a different angle. *taps head*

I have experienced a lot of damage from experimenting with wash and gos and cutting out oils. I love wearing my hair in its natural coiled up state. I’ve brought back leave ins into my routine to restore my lipid barrier. How can I avoid damage like midshaft splitting and single strand knots?
@AfrikanHairGod
@AfrikanHairGod 3 ай бұрын
Just start incorporating oil usage. You can do this either with a light pre poo or finishing off your wash n go with scrunching in an oil of your choice.

Hi Narada! 🙏🏾These days it feels like we can damage our hair with regular maintenance leading to dry strands, hygral fatigue, split ends, thinning, and breakage. Would you recommend professional or at home Bond Builders, Keratin Treatments, Protein Treatments, or Ayurvedic treatments to mitigate this?
@AfrikanHairGod
@AfrikanHairGod 3 ай бұрын
No I don't actually. I feel like everyone keeps overcomplicating haircare and throwing everything at every issue they encounter. I can keep my clients hair healthy with less than 2 trims a year by just keeping things simple and addressing the necessary essentials. Just keep your hair clean, moisturized, and healthy. It's that simple. I don't even use any deep conditioning treatments on any of my clients. I haven't seen bond builders, olaplex, or any other treatment really work for anymore tbh. Damage just needs to be removed and what caused it needs to be addressed so that it didn't reoccur.

@AfrikanHairGod how will you treat her CCCA?
@AfrikanHairGod
@AfrikanHairGod 4 ай бұрын
I don't treat CCCA or any alopecia for that matter. Cosmetologists just deal with the external. Anything internal like alopecia needs to be addressed with a medical professional or a trichologist. Dermatologists, trichologists, and cosmetologists all work together to keep our clients hair and scalp full and healthy
