I just had a great session, in no small part from a nugget of thought in this video. Sometimes re-phrasing a thought makes a huge difference. Even though I've been playing competitively for about twenty years, and I've watched every Split Suit video, there's always something to learn. Thanks James.

Not just good advice, but given with the context that makes it more readily accessible when situation arises. Thank you.

I just hit 500,000 hands in poker tracker but I still watched this and found it useful. Never ever forget the basics. Cheers

@@beck204 I play microstakes. Only 100k of those hands did I actually play. Total winnings are about $90k over two years of grinding 20 hours a week or so.

I have a question on tip 3. The small HU range cbet. Are you saying that most every time there's HU the situation with only two people after the flop that the range will be small and you should almost always be betting small? And question part 2 by small do you mean like 1 big blind? BTW Great videos. I have learned a lot from your content.

Very useful and well made content! I subbed as there is lot to learn. point #7 I would add that raising with a draw will often buy you a free card on later streets, because the opponent is more likely to proceed with caution. Subscribed ✌

What most people don’t understand is that GTO isn’t a answer sheet on how you should play a hand, that you shouldn’t use solver to check your play but instead use solver to see on certain flop what your bluffs are and what hands you should be continuing with

@11:00 yes fish can exploit you. i watch it happen on the regular. a fish raises big preflop, a fish bombs turn, a fish bets allin on river. a good player puts fish on some range of hands which need not apply here at all and folds. getting exploited by over folding to a fish
@ThePokerBank
@ThePokerBank Жыл бұрын
It might be semantics, but I see "exploiting" in poker as a player technically knowing their opponent's strategy and implementing an action that purposefully takes advantage of it. In your example, the good player may be overfolding AND the fish may not be exploiting. A fish who exploits (by my earlier definition) is likely not as big of a fish as we might think =)
@jaysonsadventuresandmischi5776
@jaysonsadventuresandmischi5776 Жыл бұрын
@@ThePokerBank semantic I guess. It's the same. Most fish bluff cause they think they can get you to lay down. If they do and you fold you've been exploited even If the fish wouldn't use the term.

@@jaysonsadventuresandmischi5776if a player is able to bluff in such a way as to get you to fold the better hand then almost by definition they are not a fish.

Hmm... vs your later "...for ADVANCED players" video, views here tanked. Wow, no need to understand your basic advice too! What do these people learn to do, specifically from you, as they start studying? Either you attract far, far more elite players than me, else ego & short-cuts are still a huge part of poker. 15mins ppl ffs. Guess I'm glad, tbh.
