4:22 That's how life was for me in 2019-2020. Spent years working to get an chemical engineering degree, worked an internship. Graduated, unable to find a job. In the interim, I faced unrelenting pressure from my parents to find a job, I felt unwelcome in my own house, and took on a new program at a college in programming. I had already spent tons of money on my degree, then had to fork out more funding for another 8-month program (ultimately helped me get employed, but it was not objectively worth the money paid). My parents thought it was a smart idea to put yourself into tens of thousands of dollars of debt to bounce to the next education program if you can't find a job within 4 months of graduating. I hadn't even finished my programming certificate and they were already pestering me to decide what program to do next if I couldn't find a job again. To say that this strained our relationship would be a gross understatement. Life was always a war, but I never acknowledged it until this point. The price of freedom is steep. Our resources are finite. Time cannot be rewound, and money cannot be easily recovered. Therefore, if you want peace, be prepared for war.

If you perceive life as challenges you will face the challenges positively. If you perceive life as "war", you will never be at peace with yourself. You will always have the adrenaline surge, the fight or flight response in you and as result you will never find peace that you are desperately looking for. Peace is something that you will only find within you. Perception of war will always create hostility, defensive attitude and putting you constantly in fighting mode. Eckhart Tolle a spiritual teacher once said - “You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level". Greetings from Malaysia.

The peace parts are when I can reflect on how good life is, but the war parts are what have crafted me into the person I am.

As an artist, I have worked 70 odd jobs so far, all classes in fields I wanted to learn about - security, medical, hospitality, investigations, driving, home construction, sales, etc. I have become aware that I have never once regretted leaving a job, but I have regretted with huge consequences staying at two jobs. One where they lost a lot of contracts and tried to make me quit, which did not work, so an attempt at termination without unemployment was tried, this was the first job out of 70 where anyone had tried to fire me, which is why I was not prepared enough. They bragged they had never allowed unemployment in 35 yrs, well, until me. I had docs and proof and their changing reasons forced them to acknowledge no cause and the judge allowed unemployment. But it took me great financial loss and numerous years to get back to income levels after 350 resumes with no reference. Another job, I did not leave in time, cost me worse. In a state with no workers comp for repetitive injury, I have now spent 2 1/2 years in a bed and chair from concurrent and successive injuries. I have lost all savings, qualified for nothing, and now that I can walk ,can not work due to quarantine. I will get through this and get back to work as soon as possible when safe, but I will be ready for war at the first red flag in the future. A speedboat on a back hidden dock will always be ready for me to quickly leave a job. There will be a kit made up after the first week of any new job. It will consist of several other jobs I will be interested in, updated resumes specified for many different fields, saved docs of job accomplishments sent to email for storage, and, yes even recordings of info needed to CMA, just in case the job goes to war with me, I will win again. Get comfortable with change and win the war before it has even started is how I look at it now. Always have an exit strategy from jobs, dwellings, relationships etc, from the second you enter into them and if war finds you. you are prepared to go and therefore win.

Thanks for making this video and letting me know that I have to always prepare for the worst case.

With all due respect my dude, you were foolish. The war never ends. Even after you get a job the war never ends. Adversity is an intrinsic part of life. For example; I had an uncle that built a successful business and became a millionaire. In spite of his success, his wife was cheating on him and eventually left him and after that, his daughter overdosed on drugs. The war does not end until the day you die. All you can do is embrace the war and become a warrior. By that I mean; be a person that meets the challenge head-on and overcomes any adversity. Remember; the obstacle is the way.

It is also said that in order to achieve a long lasting peace, you must always prepare for war. If you prepare for the worst, then when the worst does come (if it does), then you are better suited to handle it, and it then becomes less of a problem. If war doesn't come, then you still are made stronger for having prepared, which leads to a more stable mind.
