aj, this is an Australian car, so if you think flags are a good idea, use an Australian flag. Btw, why would you call an Australian car Uncle Sam ?? nuts.
@aj-fb5yi6 жыл бұрын
Nor Dic so its based off of a Australian model but it still has the caprice name and a ls powerplant owned by a AMERICAN in the usa and carries the name uncle sam so ide say a american flag and a uncle sam picture suits it pretty well.
@Major-Kong6 жыл бұрын
Here in Australia we just throw out the side mounted air filters and go over the radiator also you would be surprised how much power we force down those driveshafts, just keep an eye on the couplings. Also, the caprice in this country is the top of the line in the standard Holdens, they come pretty much decked out with all the electronic goodies. The V8's here also come with quad outlets but the same Peashooter exhaust from the cats to the Diff, we yank them and go 2 3/4 or 3 inch twins but still exiting through quad tips.
@bigworm846 жыл бұрын
I got same kit from BTR for mine, went with their stage 2 NA cam to go with that. I also did 2010 camaro headers needed little beating around the oil cooler and passenger side tranny oil lines. Pontiac g8 exhaust is bolt in just need the tips extended. And yes very happy with BTR very detailed kit.

You know it's funny, when I look at things and want to take them apart (computers, cars, lamps, guitars, phones, furniture, TVs... etc) to fettle, see if I can make them better, see how they work, if I can fix them, just to check an idea out, how it will work and what (if any) marginal gains it'll make, or just to make it look different, my family and friends think I'm mad. When I look at you geeking out over building a cold air intake from bits and pieces laying around, I'm right there, totally getting you Jeremy. Amen to us fettlers!

the reason you have more carbon than the mileage shows is because as a cop car it has thousands and thousands of engine hours idling, probably 250-300k miles worth of the engine running.

@chubbysumo22306 жыл бұрын
the OBD2 port damage is actually explainable. If this was a government service vehicle or a cop car, they splice in a tracking device that will monitor and record the car's inputs, as well as a few other things. The upfitters usually just cut them off, and splice into whats left, and then when they get prep'd for resale, someone just goes and rips the whole thing out, which usually means the cluster quits working, and it blows a bunch of fuses.
@Fasterproms16 жыл бұрын
Ok well that explains it. And you are right on the cluster didn’t work.

Your baseline 1/4 mile is 13.7sec @ 102mph. I have this exact same car with 119,000 on it. Ran it at PIR last weekend. I think I could shave off a couple tenths with practice. Green Performance drop in airfilter and Solo Performance axle back exhaust are the only mods... so far. It’s big. It weighs a little over 4,300 lbs. on a scale with me in it. But I love the car. Can hardly wait to watch this build unfold. Check out newcaprice.com if you want because I think some of those guys have already been down the paddle shifter install etc...

Well Jeremy's goal is to run 9s in this thing and neighbor currently does that. That's why I think its meant to happen.
@rustedratchetgarage67886 жыл бұрын
Fishing With Joseph yea but neighbor is about a close to a cop car as my pickup is at least this one has the original engine from a cop car not a swapped in factory built performance engine it has a engine that was on its last leg and got brought back from the dead that really put in work and survived not a low mileage midlife crisis advertisement that got busted up at cars n coffee i say this caprice wins already just for that but don't get me wrong Cleetus is awesome just comparing this to neighbor is apples and oranges

So, the intake manifold, did you just remove the sound dampener? Or did you have to replace the whole thing with a different one? I’ve been wondering ever since I found out there was a sound dampener! And was it a hard job. I’ve swapped them on old cars, but never done a new one.
