I started an auto transfer from my one checking account into another account of $100 per week. It’s now at $9100. Was effortless and added up quickly. Sure I could put it toward my mortgage but my mortgage is like 3% and the payment is only $435 which is already including a little extra monthly, also automatically.

I was a stay at Home mom with no money in my IRA or any savings of my own, which was scary at 53 years of age. Three years ago I got a part time job and save everything I make. After 3 years, I am 56 yo and have put $9,000 in an IRA and $40,000 in my portfolio with CFA, Stephanie Janis Stiefel. Since the goal of getting a job was to invest for retirement and NOT up my lifestyle, I was able to scale this quickly to $150,000. If I can do this in a year, anyone can.

This is one of my favorite books. One of the lesson I got, apart from the great lessons summarised here, is to love your work and excel at it. To quote Sharru Nada: "Life is rich with many pleasures to enjoy. Each has its place. I am glad that work is not reserved for slaves. Were that the case, I would be deprived of my greatest pleasure. Many things do I enjoy but nothing takes the place of work".

Yes, it is brilliant!!! I start doing that again (after a very long economic breakdown for 7 years) after Easter.... I rise the amount in almost 45% of my paycheck every month. From that amount, I invest in myself 50% in order to make more earning.... I have made my schedule with very small steps , it may take 2 to 5 years. But I'm searching for other options and opportunities at the same time... ❤Nisha!!!

Thank you so much for the detailed video essay on the "Richest man in babylon". There was a previous video of yours on personal expenses where you had recommended this book. (want to mention it as a callback) It was a great read for someone like me looking for directions on the personal finance. It was so grounded, no jargons, and the things were kept simple in the current times where we are slurped with jargons. Glad that there is a detailed breakdown of the book. It will be really helpful for people. Please keep up the great work! 🙇 Huge fan!

I love this book. At one time I had it as an audiobook and listened to it over and over while working my day job. The part I liked most was the lesson learned when an investment doesn't work out and how to solve it. I won't spoil it, but this is a must read and even though it seems a simple story, it does cover all you will need to see your opportunities and work with it. Well done Nischa
