Only raise your shield when you see the enemy about to attack. Keeping your shield up means your stamina recharges a lot slower.

good tips from moi: 1. Your first character is going to suck. He's going to be poorly optimized, focused on using a bad weapon and have lost a transfinite number of souls. Use this as an opportunity to learn from your mistakes and prepare yourself for future runs. 2. The knight is a very good starting character; he starts with good armor, a decent shield and an extremely well rounded weapon in the long sword. Further, his non survival stats are decent enough to let you build him into whatever you please. 3. Understand how weapons and magic work. Generally speaking, a weapon with a high strength requirement is going to be slow as hell, eat a lot of stamina per swing and do massive damage per hit whereas a weapon that is dex heavy will be fast as hell and probably eat less stamina. 4. Weapon stats aren't everything. Just because a weapon doesn't have good stat scaling or base damage doesn't mean it is by default bad; each and every weapon has it's own moveset and weapon arts which can be far more valuable then top tier damage. 5. Don't fight, kill. If you can think of ways to kill enemies that are a pain in the ass without having to straight up fight them then for the love of god do it; sneak up on them and back stab them, do drop attacks, sit somewhere their AI can''t path to and plink away at them with arrows. 6. Ignore the elitists and use magic. To hear the elitists talk you'd think that running anything other then a pure melee build makes you a nazi pedophile or something, when the truth is that having some magic in your arsenal is extremely useful to your survival; not only does it save you souls that you'd otherwise spend on arrows, bolts, throwing knives or bombs, but it also gives you other elements to smack enemies with that can make certain enemies way easier to deal with. 7. Be patient. Before you dive into a room scout it out carefully. enemies love to hide behind pillairs or on the ceiling or any of a bazillion other places, and unless their is a huge disparity in your level vs. their numbers will murder you super hard.

YourBoy Nick Warrior is good if you *know* you are going to rock a strength build; by all means get yourself a great sword and hack folks up. Thing is, it makes splitting your path to try other things (like say... magic) harder since you need to pour points into weak stats to be viable. Just my take on it.

As a newcomer to the series that just started playing Dark Souls III, here's my tip: Don't be in a rush! I've started over because partway through my playthrough, I realized that I missed a lot of content because I was too focused on getting to the end and not enough on taking my time. This ties in to the "explore" tip above, but it's also a good idea to clear each area two or three times (using bonfires to reset the areas). This can really help you get a firm handle on how the controls work, how to predict enemy attacks, and so on.

Ok so I thought that I would share some of my tips because the ones in the video are horrible. I myself have beaten dark souls 1, 2, and 3 soul level 1 and I have also beaten dark souls 1 and 3 with a broken sword only, I have also beaten Bloodborne with a torch only. I have also completed dark souls 1 and 3 without dying and have killed many bosses like Midir (DS3) and Manus (DS1), soul level 1 without taking a hit. So I would like to think that my tips are pretty useful. TIP 1: Backstab. Pretty self explanatory really, backstab your way to the win, wether it be in PvP or in PvE. TIP 2: Only ever use Sharp, Raw, Refined, Heavy, or hollow gems. Just trust me on this one all of the gems like the Blessed ones that have the gimmicks of like "gives hp back" are crap just don't use them. Not only because the ones mentioned up top add bonuses to scaling, but the weapons can still be buffed if you have them infused with those gems, if you try buff a weapon infused with a fire gem, you will be out of luck. TIP 3: Never, ever under any circumstances summon co-op phantoms. The reason why is when you summon on one boss, you start summoning on all the bosses. By summoning you will never truly understand how the boss works, how to time your dodges and how to react to different moves and combos. Sometimes you have to push through the pain and beat it on your own because in the end it will make you a better player. TIP 4: Just because a weapon looks cool and does a lot of damage, does not make it any good. Most boss weapons in dark souls 3 aren't actually that good, some are ok, but there are always better weapons out there. When questioning how good a weapon actually is you need to ask multiple questions. 1: what stats does it scale with, and how good are the scalings? (like an A scaling is better than a C scaling) 2: How good is its moveset? If your weapon has good damage, but a crap moveset, it can really hold you back in PvP and PvE. An example of a weapon with a good moveset, is the Sellsword Twinblades because its two handed moveset is amazing in PvE, thats why it is used on no death / no hit runs. 3: Does the weapon fit my character? This sorta goes back to scaling, but if you have low strength and high dexterity don't go and use a massive great hammer. I know its pretty self explanatory but my first Souls game was dark souls 3 and my whole game I used Vordts great hammer, and I always had relatively low strength so I wasn't using the weapon to its full potential. TIP 5: Try and stay away from magic. (Not to sound like an elitist) Magic in souls games is pretty much how you can cheese the entire game and come out with an easy win, it doesn't really help you develop skill when you keep spamming crystal soul spears from across the map. HOWEVER. Some spells / miracles / pyromancies are really good, take for instance Sacred Oath, what it does is it temporarily boosts attack and damage absorption for you and anyone else in the vicinity. Buffs are also great too like Lightning Blade or Crystal Magic Weapon, because they give you that extra damage when you need it. TIP 6: Learn to parry (or at least try too). In all the Souls games (including BloodBorne but in that games its a little different) there is a mechanic known as parrying, when an enemy is swinging their sword or whatever weapon at you, you can deflect their attack and open them up for a critical hit. This mechanic can at times be INCREDIBLY USEFUL. For example when I played Dark Souls 3 at soul level 1 I wanted to kill Champion Gundyr (a buffed version of the tutorial boss) to obtain the prisoners chain ring. Champ Gundyr is one of the bosses in the game that can be parried. And let me tell you, Champion is A LOT HARDER if you can't parry, same goes for Gwyn in the first game. I know it's a hard mechanic to master, but learn to parry and keep parrying till you win. TIP 7: Play the game. I know it sounds obvious, but the only real way to get better is just to play the game. By having the experience, you can kill bosses easier, make more powerful builds, and even start doing challenges. When you have the experience under your belt, you don't need to painstakingly comb through every area and pick up every item. Because you know all the item locations and what items are where, you can just run through the area, pick up what you need and leave. TIP 8: Try not to hide behind a shield. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it makes the game less fun if every encounter is spent hugging your shield in fear. Again it's not a bad thing, but if you don't use a shield it can even make you better at dodging. TIP 9: Try not to neglect consumables. The first time I ever played the game I picked up a truckload of consumables that I just collected throughout the game and never used. Just use them please, like it makes your life a little easier if you use your resins, green blossoms and divine blessings. TIP 10: Upgrading / infusing a Shield is a waste of time and resources. Just don't do it. TIP 11: Learn the ins and outs of all of the stats. This doesn't just apply to Dark Souls 3, but learn all the soft caps (like avoid levelling Vigour over 40 because you will see diminishing returns of how much hp your getting) for the different stats and also learn what all the stats do. Also in a few of the games there are things you should and shouldn't do with the stats. For example, in Dark Souls 1, never invest points into "Resistance" It is a total waste of levels. Also in Dark Souls 2, level Adaptability to 20-25 before anything else. Because it increases invincibility frames on your rolls and also makes you drink Estus faster. Sorry for writing my life story in the comments, but I hope some of these tips helped you if you are new.

Really doesn't sounds like tips for beginner or something else than "play my way" or "play the speedrunner/challenge guy" way. You aren't giving much useful advice to someone that will do it only once for example. Don't get me wrong, those are great things to know, but many player don't care about all that. And for the things like "don't summon phantoms" or "don't use a shield" it's just about the difficulty/playstyle you want. I love a challenge but I just want to play with my friend for example.
@vividvault92855 жыл бұрын
Yea, I disagree with the "don't summon phantoms" portion. I summon phantoms all of the time. Not to say that I can't beat the boss without them, I just don't want to slam my head against the same boss that I have killed in previous games on repetitive playthroughs. Secondly, you will absolutely learn the bosses mechanics. The boss will execute the same mechanics regardless of whether or not you have a summon. This just means that half the time, you don't have to sit and tank the boss which ups your recovery ability. Your advice is not really advice, it's just a preference. The entire summoning system is geared around players helping players kill bosses or other players. So, why encourage people not to use it?

I have a couple of tips, pretty simple ones really. First, conserve your stamina, you never know when you'll need to block a flurry of attacks of get the hell out of dodge. while it may be tempting to nuke an enemy, if you don't kill them and run out of stamina, you'll leave yourself wide open. Also, take your time, carefully investigate areas, you might find some sweet loot, a hidden area, preemptively spot traps or ambushes, and the views are usually pretty beautiful too.

If you get a Claymore +3 (6 normal titanite) , 27 strength, enough dexterity to use it (13) and a heavy gem, your Damage a hit will be around 250+ (or slightly less) with a single two handed light attack (this if an enemy hasn’t got resistance to anything that may effect damage). This makes a lot of the bosses easier and it is insanely strong in PvP. For the newer players, this makes the game much easier since the best some players might get out of their +3 weapon can be around 150-170 damage (depending on infusions and the weapon itself, also the scaling) with a light attack so give this a try. I recommend starting out as a warrior for decent HP and Strength. Look up how to get these items and you’ll have a blast! Other tips: Quip load below 70%, this prevents fat rolls. Get in a habit of hitting chests, this helps just in case one is a mimic. Check a weapons scaling, A is the best and F is the worst, if you are a strength build and you look at a weapon, if the letter below the strength symbol is A, that means the DMG is going to scale best with strength. Plan a build before you upgrade random stuff and waste your souls. A build is essentially a play style. Look up if there is anything on how to create builds. Use the Dark Souls Wiki, it is extremely useful even for the little things veterans might forget. DO NOT waste materials on random things, I know it is hard if you see a cool weapon but please, it will help in the long run. Try to build a build round a weapon you like and enjoy using. Let’s say you like big hammer that smacks enemy’s round the head and decapitates them in one hit, this means you want to level up things like strength and endurance. HP ,vitality and in most cases endurance is important for every build, especially the HP. Be patient. This game does not reward you greatly for aggression a lot unlike Bloodborne, so play it safe and make wise decisions. The tips are for EVERY souls game, have fun and if you are new, dont give up!

About the final tip in the video regarding co-oo, 1) there is no level restriction for summoning if all parties are using the same password, though all summons will be scaled to the host. 2) only the host needs to be embered/enkindled in order to do coop, the players summoned do not need to be embered to be summoned and they automatically are upon leaving if they are alive if the area boss is killed. Hope this helps some people out.

I'm not a pro, but one of the things that I've really found helpfull is to keep more than one type of weapon. Like a short sword that is meant to be fast or a big hammer that hit hardly but slower, that let me keep the advantage plenty of times.

You should have added the numbers for the equip load variation. 29.9 and below - fastest 69.9 or 70.0 in some cases - rolls are fast Anything above that, just dont do it unless you're building a massive tank with tough armor and big weapons which is kinda fun tbh.

Holy cannoli! Great video! 👏💯 I just bought a copy from 2nd & Charles for $10 and it looked to be in near mint condition. Has the little booklet inside and everything (which is AWSOME and brings back SOOO many memories😁) AND came with the original Soundtrack!?? Like WHAAAAT?!!! LOLZ. New to the Souls Gang but very much liking it so far. Difficulty adds something called "challenge" which sadly seems to be lacking in many games today. With a little over 200 hrs. in Elden Ring I decided to finally dip my toes into an "actual Souls game". Although I already find it SOOOO similar. LOL! VERY HAPPY GAMER HERE!!! 😆🤣♠💯😎😎

Correcting a slight mistake, the one being summoned does not need to be embered. I got summoned just fine only an hour ago doing the Curse-Rotted Greatwood without being embered, even attained ember status upon defeating the boss while summoned. While summoned you also don't lose ember/estus when dying which can be useful information for newcomers since it allows them to practice bosses in a somewhat risk free environment. Other than that some good tips here for ppl starting out. Thumbs up!

what the hell is amber? and why do i need it for co-op? this video raises as many questions as it answers
@swallowedinthesea118 жыл бұрын
+ATX max Without Ember, you can't summon for help. Plus that bonus HP is gone when you die while embered.
@maxb94808 жыл бұрын
dude you just used ember as a verb and a noun. Forgive my curiosity, this is my first DS game, but how do i obtain this verb-noun hybrid?
@swallowedinthesea118 жыл бұрын
ATX max To obtain the Ember you just need to help another player defeat the boss. That player is the Host, and he summons you, the Client, to his world. How does the Host summon you? You just need to use the Soapstone (500 Souls to buy from that grandma sting in chair at Fireshrink) which will write your name on the ground that the Host will touch to call you. If you die, the Host dies, or there's a disconnect, no Ember for you. You don't lose any Souls if you die as the Client; only the Host. The opposite is also true if you're the Host, but you must be Embered to summon help. Clients don't need to be. You can use the Soapstone almost anywhere like before fighting a gang of tough enemies. It's mostly beneficial to use it before the boss's entrance so more possible players who are headed towards there can see your name.
@swallowedinthesea118 жыл бұрын
ATX max Red Soapstone sign = summon invader for PvP. White/yellow Soapstone signs = summon co-op help.

Heya next vid try explaining to them how to do stats depending on what weapon and enhancements you want to use say putting a deep gem on a sword youd want str and int at same lvl for max damage say you wanna use the classic zwiehander the legendary 2 handed sword from dark souls youd want str for heavy gem and str int for magic damages such as dark magic and fire lightning ect and if you wanted poison bleeding or blessed youd want your faith at same lvl as str for max damage. Just an insightful tip for newcomers to dark souls 3!

I have 2 questions: 1) How does he do that 'fade out' thing when rolling at 2:35? At first I inferred it was Spook, but judging from his full 'mana' bar (or whatever it's called, I haven't played the game yet) along with the maximum number of Estus charges indicating he didn't consume any of that blue stuff, I'm thinking otherwise. I noticed an additional status effect icon beneath the stamina bar. So I'm guessing it's a ring like the Simpleton's Ring in DkS2? 2) What the bloody fuck is Andre of Astora doing in DSIII?

Extra tip: get some sort of ranged weapon. luring enemies out one at the time is a great idea. You can find a longbow on the high wall of lothric (A.K.A the first area after the tutorial). You may not have the right stat requierments but thats okay because you can still fire it. It just won't do that much damage.
