Here is a couple helpful tips: Don’t be shy to wear leggings or something warm under your dress. No one will see it and you’ll be so thankful you did because you’ll be nice and warm! 😊 also, make sure you get matching shawls for your bridesmaids because they’ll want to wear something to keep warm, but you want the pictures to match! Remember to account for extra travel time Incase there is bad weather! Have a coat check or somewhere that people can put their coats when they come inside! Make sure you schedule your photos appropriately because the sun sets a lot earlier in winter. Hope these tips helped. If they did feel free to head over to my channel as I post wedding tips and tricks every Wednesday 🥰 Best of luck planning your wedding!

In regards to the veil comment - my friend's sister got married last summer and during the ceremony, a wasp starting crawling up the inside of her veil. I made panicked eye contact with my friend, who was the maid of honour, and she immediately knew something was wrong. She saw that the wasp was about to reach the bride's head, so she just ripped the veil off her 😂 Thankfully the bride's hair wasn't ruined and everyone got a good laugh out of it (plus the bride was thankful she didn't get stung)

An additional thought regarding self-serve drink stations- consider having multiple of them if your venue is quite large or very crowded. This way, the tables that are farthest from the bar can have easier access to at least water and ice. And make sure you have a designated person to keep an eye on refills for that station.

A few thoughts from watching this: 1. A friend who got married in summer (church wedding, outdoor reception) splurged to get enough of those little cutout pattern sandalwood fans for everyone and then tied wrist loops of ribbon to them in their wedding colors. It was so nice! They looked beautiful, worked better than paper and smelled soooo good. 2. If you have a quirky aesthetic, you can do dry ice punch for an outdoor reception. If you don't know already, for each batch you need two very large METAL punchbowls of different sizes so that one can keep the other suspended (if either of these is glass, plastic, wood, anything, it WILL CRACK), gallons of fruit juice or any drink you would prefer carbonated, and dry ice (duh). You stack the bigger bowl on the smaller one, fill it with punch, and put in a small amount of dry ice. The effect is so great. Not only do you get this very cool cauldron effect with fog billowing off of your punch bowl - inherently awesome - but a tiny bit of dry ice takes way longer to melt than regular ice, it gets your drink COLD (whoever is tending the punch bowl will have to break off the punch when-not-if it starts to freeze around the dry ice), and whatever flat drink you use for punch will become extremely effervescent. My favorite way to do a punch bowl. 3. I feel like a snow cone stand at an outdoor ceremony would be incredibly cool, especially if they coordinated with the bar so your could have boozy snow cones. Like who doesn't want boozy snow cones? 4. I had some very dear friends who got married in summer, outside, very bright, very hot. There was a tiny tent - for the wedding party. The rest of us burned. Don't be those people. 5. If you really want live flowers, you can buy very small corsage vials and completely hide them in your hair, as long as your hairstylist knows in advance. The one time I did bridal party hair and makeup, we styled the bride's hair around tiny vials of water with rose buds in them, and they were completely invisible and looked great. Just remember that they don't have a way of attaching to your head. 6. Ice, ice cream, snow cones, popsicles, etc are all great, but don't forget that if you are very very hot and everything you're consuming is very very cold, you can get very ill. So make sure there are cool refreshing drinks and cool refreshing food, but you don't want people throwing up from the sudden temperature change. 7. Not to be the scary person who says this, but in any outdoor event but especially summer events, make sure there is a designated shaded area with medical supplies, because people can and do get heat stroke.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona. I have always dreamed about having an all-outdoor wedding. BUT, I would never have an outdoor wedding, in Phoenix, in the summer; because I am not at all interested in baking, broiling, grilling, or otherwise cooking my guests. No thanks. I'm not a murderer, or torturer. Neither is my man. Lol. That being said, I will still enjoy your video because I love your personality and your videos are entertaining. And I still believe these tips could be good for those who live in climates where their summers are actually pleasant.
@kayseacamp4 жыл бұрын
Valerie Linares I live in Tucson and I second that notion. Outdoor weddings just shouldn’t exist in our state during the summer.
@valerielinares20684 жыл бұрын
@@kayseacamp Well, I agree with your statement to a point. If you're talking about the lower deserts where highs remain 100+, I agree with you %1000. But, some people here are still gonna be crazy and have an outdoor wedding in the intense summer heat in the lower deserts. They either have a death wish, and/or they wish death on their guests - cause they're crazy. Maybe that sounds mean to say... but, I mean.. if you plan an outdoor wedding in the summer, in Phoenix... Just know, you will regret it. Just don't do it. It's a bad idea. That being said, the mountainous regions up north, though, are actually quite pleasant in the summer - highs usually float around the 70s and 80s. The higher the elevation, the nicer the summer tends to be, it seems. You guys have Mt. Lemmon nearby. I bet when you get to the top of the mountain, it's much cooler than the Tucson valley. Then again, maybe I'm wrong. I've never been to Mt. Lemmon before. I just know there's a forest up there, so I'm assuming it's cooler.
@beccag27584 жыл бұрын
All outdoor weddings seem so beautiful, but where I live summer means humidity and mosquitos. I feel like fall outdoor wedding could be an option, as long as people bring a coat when the sun goes down? Or a place that you can open a bunch of the wall/Windows to an outdoor terrace area? Incidentally, I'm not even in a relationship right now, I just love her videos😂
@valerielinares20684 жыл бұрын
@@beccag2758 I think it depends on the climate. I mean, yes, in the lower deserts of Arizona, it gets HOTT. I mean, HOTTT in the summer. I would not want to have a summer wedding, in Phoenix, in the summer. If I absolutely had to have my wedding in the summer, my plan B would be to move my outdoor wedding to the north country of Arizona where it is much cooler, or plan C, move it indoors... which would really suck because I really, _really_ want an outdoor wedding. That being said, I understand that depends on climate. There are some climates (such as northern AZ) where the weather is quite nice in the summer. I hear Colorado has nice summers. And I'm sure there are other locations where the summer is very nice. It's just that Phoenix is not one of those places. Granted though, it's nice here during the rest of the year, so, I guess it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the country if we had nice weather year-round. I wouldn't mind having an outdoor wedding in any other season. Honestly, I LOVE Phoenix weather every other time of the year. Fall, winter, spring? Beautiful!! Summer....? When you walk out the door, it's like you're walking into a 400 degree oven, Esp. in the middle of the summer... UGH!! I'm currently not engaged right now. However, with this guy, I can certainly see things going in that direction for us. But, I understand where you're coming from! LOL!

I intern with a wedding planner. My best advice is to ask your wedding planner, if you have one bc they know how best to plan for things. In terms of weather, come up with very rough plans of what to do in case it rains or is too hot. Tents are expensive, so decide at late as you feel comfortable to book one or not. There's a lot of moving parts, but I hope this helps ;)
@lindsay39174 жыл бұрын
1) Guest comfort (sunscreen, bugspray, fans) 2) Drinks (more white wine and cold beer, LOTS of water and ice) 3) Shade/AC 4) Flowers - Durable flowers that won't wilt, don't repurpose 5) Timeline - don't make people stay in the sun, consider a later timeline 6) Food - lighter fare 7) Attire - looser, lighter clothing, consider no train or veil 8) Hair/makeup - long-lasting makeup, consider an updo 9) Desserts - consider cold deserts (i.e. popsicles during cocktail hour, ice cream truck), and be careful of buttercream and bugs

In western Washington the options are have your wedding in the summer or have it inside, and while it's not ever going to be scorching, I still want everyone to be comfortable. Q: Imagine a couple is having a backyard immediate family only wedding. Photography is a priority, but seeing the bride and groom in their wedding attire for every photo isn’t necessary. Have you ever heard of the photographer coming for an hour during the “rehearsal” ( immediate family only with no attendants doesn’t need a rehearsal)? Big family shots could be taken then leaving wedding day for details, getting ready, couple, and couple and parents shots.

Can you do a video on what information you HAVE to include in your DIY invite suite? I’m trying to find ways to inform people that the ceremony is outside in a garden but the reception is inside (so probably no stilettos, because grass). Idk if I HAVE to even tell them
@valerielinares20684 жыл бұрын
When I was creating my invitations, I also struggled with informing people about what footwear to wear because grass. After much google searching, this is what I came up with: "The ceremony will be on the grass; Please choose your footwear accordingly. " It's not very romantic or cute. But hopefully it's clear and to the point. Generally speaking, I absolutely think you should tell them. What if they do wear stilettos or some other pokey shoe and discover the ceremony is on the grass? Then they either get stuck in the grass, or have to get their feet dirty walking in the grass. Or worse, it's a species of grass that's uncomfortable to walk on so it isn't ideal to take one's shoes off. It is ultimately up to you to tell them. But I do highly recommend letting your guests know about the grass. Oh, lastly, I genuinely want to know, what are your thoughts on my statement about grass, "The ceremony will be on grass; please choose your footwear accordingly." Do you think that is clear and to the point? Do you think it could still be confusing for some? Please let me know. I am genuinely interested in your ideas. Thanks! :-)

I'd love to see wedding tips for small weddings! We invited 250 people, but may have to limit our November wedding (postponed from May 30th) to 50 people.

Brenda Cid Here is a couple helpful tips for winter weddings! Don’t be shy to wear leggings or something warm under your dress.

Can you do a video about cocktail hour? I keep hearing the term and it sounds like a good idea but I don't know about the specifics.

Rip, most of these I am doing. Black, tight fitted dresses. All because my wedding was supposed to be Winter 2020 but was moved to summer 2021 due to corona. Soz friends, going to have to be hot, I can't afford to redo everything :(

This might be a stupid question, but is water really not clean enough in the US for guests to drink? 🤔 I'm thinking in the event that you really don't have enough water, why don't you just not serve tap? It's better than dehydrating 😅
