I can add some useful additional information which is relevant to this. I’m 50, 6’0” (look 10-15 years younger I’m told) essentially retired, let’s just say I have my sh*t together. Never married, no kids. Decided to leave my home country, quit my job, sold up - car, home, everything - became nomadic. A minimalist. Wanted the ability to manoeuvre & most of all want the freedom, so structured my life in a way to achieve this. So, I now just rent. Have invested majority of my net worth wisely in sensible long-term investments to give me a passive income which I now live off. I tell girls none of this. On the surface they see me renting a small apartment, renting a small non-showy car and form an opinion. The wrong opinion. My ex (29) couldn’t accept I didn’t need, nor desire to work any longer. Even when they get themselves a great catch, it still isn’t enough. Something to think about.

In America they seem to have a different culture where it´s more common that a man pay for everything, on every date, but in other countries it´s more equal. Woman in their 30´s prepare for building a home and have kids and therefore a stable man who will be there to support is important. Remember that money isn´t always the important thing. Most woman are driven by emotions and even a poor man can trigger that in a girl. As long as you stimulate her in an emotional way. I know several relationships where the girl takes care of the man and have more money than the guy. Divorced girls 40-50 plus is not that picky. They are stuck with 2-3 kids having trouble finding someone. They have been burned and know that no one is perfect.

I don't doubt that your assessment is true, but it's for reasons of shallow cultural pressure rather than substantive relationship management. What matters is 1) having a partner you can more or less agree with ideologically, and then 2) devising an arrangement that involves equitable investment into the wellbeing of the relationship. Education and income are only two possible measures. My wife and I have equivalent education, which helps with ideological compatibility, but our upbringing is an equally pertinent factor. As for income, I retired 12 years ago and she's still working. Why? Because she likes her job and I like being retired. That said, I've put about $150K worth of upgrades into our home for $20K in materials and $0K in labor - value can be measured in more ways than just income. It starts with seeing your relationship as a partnership, where each partner contributes equally - but according to their individual strengths. Maybe I just got lucky and bagged me one of the 10% who is able to measure worth in ways beyond income potential.

Education isn’t important as you think, the lifestyle you live and offer is what a woman notices and that is directly linked to your financial status and not a degree by default. Your circle of friends and influence is the second thing a woman will notice. This also depends on the maturity of a woman. The younger she is the less likely she will care about these things because she hasn’t even had enough exposure to guys who are accomplished enough in their early 20’s to experience that kind of opportunity unless their Father was such an example which completely changes the view she will have in her 20’S. So I definitely would oversimplify this as if all woman have this understanding by default.

Considering the percentage of really wealthy people out of the world population, marriages amongst the poor(the majority of the population on earth) and divorces within the extremely wealthy ( even the most famously billionaires) these factors seem superficial and temporary. I these things matter to some extent, but in the grand scheme of life, it all doesn't matter. A man who knows himself will measure his own success based on what he prioritizes, not what his friends or woman thinks. Only those who put value in these judgement parameters or traits will be affected by what the 90% think.
