Here from Steve McDonald's channel! Beautiful Artistry you do indeed New Subscriber! Been wanting to do stained glass with resin and actually I used the flat wire also before I became familiar with your channel! I'm always wanting to learn new techniques! I'm so happy I was on the right track! Tyfs! I made coasters with the wire. I poured a light pour into mold let it cure enough to set the wire in to hold it in place and a wall piece using toilet roll cut out shapes same method! Its Beautiful!😁👏🏾👏🏾❤👍🏾

Omg, I have followed you for ages and been in your Discord since it's beginning. But I missed this video! I wanted to try a stained glass after seeing stained glass wire frames available for purchase on Amazon. But.... I wanted to do one that was a bit more personal for Christmas gifts later this year. I wondered if I could use wire, a glass panel or something, UV resin for some securing before filling, etc, and do this myself. And here you are! Thank you and your brilliantly crafty mind!

That turned out great, especially for a first attempt. There’s a product called Pebeo that’s available on Amazon, it resembles lead lines and comes in different colors. You could put a sheet if Acetate on top of a pattern and trace the lines with the Pebeo, then after it sets up add the UV or 2 part. I love that you made it pendant sized. Soldering that wire would be difficult. I’m a retired Stained Glass artisan and I’ve yet to try any Stained Glass techniques in resin.😆 Great job Daniel!❤
@fairyspunfibers90982 жыл бұрын
I have the black and clear Pebeo, and lemme tell ya! That stuff does not want to come out nice and even. Oy! I'd stick with wire - square wire, for sure. 👍😊

I fixed piece of cello tape between the wire and the printed image,instead of the silicon mold,it saves more time and it reduces leaking. I need to cure both sides together(with mirror underneath the tape)before pulling it off. otherwise part of the resin would be torn off together with the tape. I suggest adding some silver or gold glitters to the backside to make the resin shiny.

Ooh my what an amazing idea. I have no ideal where you get these ideals but just so great I love it. You do inspire me and many others to try something new. I got loads of resin treats for Christmas. These pastes are awesome for the money but they were cheaper under £20 before Christmas but still red, blue, yellow, white, and black every essential colour you need to create any colour you need for under £30 and so much and opaque I don't think I'll ever need more. Just a toothpick dipped in lightly is enough to colour so much resin and great for bloom style art. As always your a 🌟 top art as always very informative and useful plus educational. Love what you do always 👌❤️👌🫶💪👍🫵 awesome 👊😊😃😉love to take you fishing 🎣 to show you another hobby 😉❤️😀

If you use a really small paint brush, a size 0 or 00, you can "paint" in your UV Resin in small pieces at a time… I mainly work with UV resin and when I make small jewelry pieces like this, that is what I use to control the amount of uv Resin needed… afterwards, go over the entire piece with clear uv resin to seal everything in! Great job for your first attempt at doing this!

Interesting to see other people’s techniques. I’ve been using this method to make suncatchers for the last year based on an original idea from Steve McDonald. I used an acetate sheet (glossy side up) as a base, 3mm wire and stuck it down with clear silicone. Rarely leaked. But I used epoxy as the areas were too big for UV really. I also found that once i’d shaped all the wire that a very thin clear layer first then ‘held’ all the other internal pieces. Approx 6 or 7”. Same principle though. Don’t think I can add a picture here.

Yep, put a piece of clear acrylic blank over the top of the lamp legs… laying your mold or bezel tape directly on the lights can melt the bezel tape and also ruin the mold… the blank I use came from one of my polymer clay kits that comes with an acrylic roller pin, two blanks to roll you clay out on and cutting devices… I found out the hard way that laying the pieces I was curing the underside of on the lamp melted the bezel tape and ruined the piece I was making…. I just happened to glance at that piece of clear acrylic I had and thought if it was long enough I could set it on the legs of the lamp and the. I could put the pieces to be cured on their underside on that clear acrylic piece… I hadn’t used this particular blank yet so it was crystal clear… so now, that piece of clear acrylic is only used for curing my uv pieces…
