NBC "The More You Know " PSA- I love how Robert Stack delivers the message about Drunk Driving in this PSA with lots of authority. He sure believes strongly in that message and it's very nice to see. Sunrinse Downy Dryer Sheets- 🎶 Turn On The Sunshine, Turn On The Freshness! 🎶 That's one jingle I remember fondly and still sing occasionally to this day.

2:21 - Okay, it's just weird seeing Robert Stack in Unsolved Mysteries Mode being this happy here. He's supposed to be creepy and ominous!

Man this takes me waaaaayyyy back. Did these times really happen? They were the best of times!! I miss them and my parents very much! I try to describe the 80s and 90s to my kids but it’s something you just haves to experience.

My girlfriend, while now a US Citizen, was born and raised in the Philippines. She would have only been two years old in July 1990 when the Luzon Earthquake happened. I'll have to ask her family about that.

Whoa, the infamous "Magic in the Real Thing" promotion. I started buying Coca-Cola from the vending machine at school in hopes of winning. Amazingly, some people who lucked out and won complained about the mechanism not really working or the can not having Coke in it. I remember that American Express commercial with the song "Rescue Me." Those commercials were mini travelogues. That, along with the news break headlines, reminds me of how the only way to see more details was to see the newscast when it aired or read about it in a magazine.

I didn't realize the "Diarrhea is like a storm" ad was that recent -- I was watching a LOT of tv as a kid in 1990 but I don't think I'd ever seen it in the wild. I always assumed that it was, like, a 1970s commercial like a lot of stuff they quoted on MST3k.

I believe they also used it in earlier ads in the 80's.

Losing weight by drinking chocolate milk? I don't think we have the same definition of "health".

It is a meal replacement plan, which is clearly explained in the commercial. Diet food doesn't necessarily have to be perfectly healthy, it just has to replace something that is *more* unhealthy and contains more calories.

First time to see an American news outlet covering a Philippine earthquake. I think this is the same 1991 earthquake that my mom felt while she was pregnant with me (?) Calling from the Philippines to the U.S was tedious because we needed to use 100 Philippine peso call cards which only lasted 1 hr then you have to run to a store to buy another card 😢😢 thank goodness for the evolving technology

This earthquake took place on 7/16/90. You might be thinking of the eruption of Pinatubo, which happened about a year later: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991_eruption_of_Mount_Pinatubo
