I’ve noticed that too. But why do you think small noses are considered part of the new norm for models? It’s mainly North Europeans and maybe East Asians who have dainty, small noses. Props to Dr Mike Mew for calling out the fake models in our industry. People view these models as the pinnacle of beauty when in reality they have recessed and unhealthy faces and have done a lot of procedures to look like that. The only reason these models are considered beautiful is because of status and their jobs as high fashion models. Natural beauty is true beauty.

The difference is striking. The 90s models look so much better! I haven't watched the full video but do modern male models have similar uniform cosmetic procedures to females? If not, then why? I don't follow the modeling industry but from what I noticed male models are a lot more distinct than female ones and their faces are very much Indicative of their race, unless they're mixed. Again, I don't follow this industry so I could be wrong.

I do agree that faces are starting to look the same due to surgery, makeup & beauty trends. However, all the models you showed have one thing in common which is having above average facial harmony. It is the most important component of what people consider attractive.
@nevin8604
@nevin8604 Ай бұрын
Facial harmony is influenced by upswing (which is what he told in the video). About all of the good features of the face are from proper development. The reason the new models dont have harmony is because they only have the individual features of maxillary development done to them artificially and lacks the actual development of the skull. Take for example Bella Hadid, such an alien type face, exactly what makes her popular in today's fashion industry.

Are there other exercises and changes besides mewing and good posture we can do to reverse or improve facial damage that has already been done? I'm sure several of us have already been messed with by the orthodontic industry. It would be amazing if you could expand on retaining and regaining facial beauty and health after teeth have already been pulled. It would make a great future video idea. i had premolar and wisdom extractions. mewing, chin tucks, good posture, improve general flexibility and mobility. it's all about ALIGNMENT. if the body is positioned correctly then it grows and develops harmoniously. i'm currently working towards the front splits, and you definitely need alignment to put your body into that upside-down "T" shape. thinking about all the biomechanical forces of the muscles, joints, bones, etc working and interacting with each other to achieve proper posture, economy and efficiency of movement. there is a certain lightness in movement when you get rid of forward head posture for example, because the head is so heavy.

also relax your lower jaw. i tried mewing teeth slightly together as initially suggested for about a year, but stopped because it wasn't working well. i found a blog that covered not only mewing but also starecta and other topics related to the stomatognathic system. turns out i was getting slight tmj while biting, because my upper jaw is underdeveloped, so the lower jaw has to shift back in the joint socket in order to bite (as opposed to a perfect bite where the lower jaw simply swings open and close like an alligator). so when i hold the bite there is tension and mild discomfort. to fix this i have to relax my lower jaw and mew with my teeth apart (keeping a lip seal of course); this creates a slight underbite, but what else do you expect from an upper jaw that's set back, missing premolars? in my case i'm mewing so that my upper jaw and maxilla can (hopefully) eventually match my lower jaw. chin tucks are much easier also with a relaxed lower jaw

Counterpoint: today young women from rich families decide to become models...the aesthetic procedures are paid for and modelling commences. The Hadids and Jenners are examples. Zoë Kravitz just happens to have the two most attractive famous parents on Earth--in her case plastic surgery (almost) non-existent and definitely unnecessary. But also a nepo baby. 90s models were young women who were plucked from obscurity because of their naturally extraordinary bone structure.

She does have highly mixed heritage though, that was even part of her main appeal as a true multi-generational "American Mutt." I think the point is less about people who look naturally ambiguous (other 90's celebs who come to mind are Spice Girl Mel B or Yasmeen Ghauri, both mixed race so yeah), and more so about the "same-face" effect when people are all getting the same work done, combined with the effects on the mid-face by our modern environment.

it's interesting because you see a lot of the cosmetic industry that externally compensates for things that can be achieved internally. think of cosmetic surgery like something being directed TOWARDS you, whereas mewing is something YOU direct OUTWARDS... cosmetic surgery INVADES you, mewing EMERGES from you. interesting how beauty standards can be influenced by what's culturally/socially popular, and humans can forget our PRIMORDIAL beauty, that we are all endowed with, and are all capable of achieving. our birthright and in our very nature. and it's not just beauty... it's a larger airway, for better oxygen flow, better breathing, better circulation, better biomechanical alignment, efficiency of movement, the list is endless

Don't be so hard on yourself. Have a beautiful heart. It's still true that beauty is as beauty does. Character is far more important than the outward appearance. Work on physical fitness and healthy skin and hair.

why do you only talk about looks all the time? is there any kind of thougths towards people's health? if you want to claim a space in dentistry with orthotropics, at least make it straight that you don't care about health all that much

No model/actor has ever been natural lol. It's all a big fat lie. Procedures have existed for decades. Female models like Linda Evangelista have totally ruined their looks by getting all kinds of procedures done. It's a horrible addiction. Just like michael jackson he was addicted to plastic surgery and in the end he absolutely ruined his face. It's sad to see. Actors like brad pitt and tom cruise and many others have gotten procedures done. All female models had face lift and buccal fat removal all sorts of things done but now the models these days like bella hadid and girls like kylie jenner just cant stop and keep doing procedures they dont know when to stop and end up ruining their faces.

Try filming in front of a more interesting backdrop with more depth, like a beautiful room, rather than a plain wall

Kate Moss has most definitely had a nose job so she is not exactly "natural" but you're english so maybe you're biased.

Sorry you can’t reach ”full potential” if you’ve already had downward growth. If you’re going to talk about any of it at least show some examples of cranial movement. What is this?! It doesn’t even explain the intricacies yet people call him an expert..?

Everyone here is interested in the topic of beauty and health which is why we are learning what Mike and his father have to teach. If you're not interested in health or beauty and you're watching this channel, you are the odd one for wasting your time on a topic you're not interested in.

our health is important, beauty is tied to health, measuring societal health across many fixtures helps us diagnose where improvements should be made. The face of these models implants notions of beauty into society if not directly, through media and advertisement, then indirectly, through who is hired for these roles and thus elevated financially which allows those to better promote their genes. If features which are not indicative of health are being promoted then we should atleast see what is going on.
