The shots you've have is more cleaner than the previous videos of other content creator's. ..nice job sir..

Nice work...what kind or brand of furnace is that and where can you aquire it??

I use a small glass quick blow fuse on my anode lead. I haven't had it pop yet but then my cell is pretty small and the crystals that form in my cell don't grow long they seem to have large facets and are more stout. Sreetips gave me the idea, If I recall he said it worked for him.
@samMcintyre-p3j Жыл бұрын
So with a smaller cathode bowl how long is the growing time , you mentioned checking every 2 hours on the state of the anode and the basket level , I am assuming it’s not 14 to 15 days as with larger cathode bowl That you so much for sharing your knowledge with us , Kind regards

if the electrolyte is blue its got copper, right? but you can reuse on cell without crystals getting copper plating in. how many times can you use before its too contaminated? And then, I guess, how long does it stay clear, when fresh?

How much silver celment did you start with before melt into shot to the amount of shot u ended up with?...

I am new on your channel. Thank you so much for sharing your hard work to others. It is very interesting what you are doing. Watching this type of videos, it is for me very relaxing. Respect! P.S. Do you sell your final products?

Hey Stefan! Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoy the vids. I still mainly sell my pieces via the fb group GoldBugs. Eventually I'll get a storefront page on the website :)

36:42 .... Where did you buy this white plate? What material is it made of?....thank you
@LithicMetals3 жыл бұрын
It's the classic Corningware. Made specifically for stovetop use. The material is Pyroceram. I aquired mine from local thrift shops.

What is the point of the electrolysis if the shot is theoretically pure?
@LithicMetals2 жыл бұрын
The shot isn't pure after being cemented out with copper. It may be close, like 98%-99%... but it still carries small traces of copper. 😁
@francesc5172 жыл бұрын
Is the blue liquid that you have in the bottle and that you put in the steel bowl to do the electrolysis the same liquid that you get with the cementation of silver through copper, that is silver nitrate? then, you finally dissolve pure silver in nitric acid and this time it's not blue, but it's transparent, does that mean it's pure silver?
@LithicMetals2 жыл бұрын
Essentially yes it is. However, a proper electrolyte (the blue liquid) should be pure silver dissolved in distilled water and nitric acid. New electrolyte should be clear like water.

Hello again And sorry for my next question. I buy from Alibaba 1kg silver powder . Can i make in same proces as You make here ?or silver powder is not same to silver cement? Sorry i am new..i want to learn ..thank You Sir Jef

I don't know what "silver powder" is... Does it claim to be pure silver or...?

Why do u have to turn it into shot instead of straight into a bar?
@LithicMetals3 жыл бұрын
Hmm... I assume you're talking about melting the cemented silver into shot...? You definitely could pour it into a bar. However, with shot you have more surface area exposed to the current. It drives the process a bit faster, and makes it easier to regulate the amount of material in the anode basket.

Is your stainless bowl completely non magnetic?
@LithicMetals3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if it's completely non magnetic... but magnets do not stick to the bowl strong enough to notice.
