It WAS a gorgeous town, I grew up there from 62-80. The only other disaster we had was an propane explosion in 1978, leveled half the town. We're a strong resilient ppl. We built back then and we'll build back this time. Google "Waverly train derailment 1978"....😢

Mother nature can be like a wild bull at times, it was the flood in Nashville that wipe out Cornelia Fort airport and put an end to a long history of Cole mill aircraft modes and gave Opry Mills mall a hard blow along with many Nashville homes. If you look at the phots of the event there amazing just like the ones hear or other parts of the world were mother nature has let loose hear furry of wind, rain, floods or Volcano's sending sending ash so high it can choke the life out of a any aircraft flying in it like the 4 engine jet who lose one engine after another. It left the crew fighting to restart the engines and no ideals why the quit, Luck one by one the engines came back to life as the dust left them but not before giving the crew a night flight there never for Get. looking at a night water landing . Mother nature a loving mom and a witch all in the same body for she can be so sweet and be so harmful as well in just no time. Bless all who live through this and thanks to all that jump in to help as well
