I'm floored! And so is the 914 Ferrari! Well, almost, anyway. And phasing CV joints? Who even knew that was a thing? Well, we do now! And I almost finished the pedal install but - you guessed it - I changed my mind on the design. Enjoy!

Great solution to an otherwise complicated project. The stock assembly is actually kind of weak as the fire wall tends to flex. I don't think you will experiance any of that now. Good job.

Smash and Punch are great! Miss my orange kitty, Emmie was with us for 19 years, a very good boy.

Brilliant use of the table leg, I know I constantly look for neat structural metal stampings everywhere. 11 gauge, should be a nice stiff platform for the foot controls

Far easier to reuse that make from scratch, eh? Plus, it's sorta fun to use "unexpected" components - particularly when they work!

It wasn't too bad, what with that gun approach. All fun and games until I have to R&R that one side!

Looks great! Are these the 600 series pedals?

Yep, 600 series. Seems they stopped putting the "easy to see" model # on them, like the set in my LS car.

Very fun to watch you work and solve these problems in a creative fashion. Any thought to drilling weight relief out of that pedal plate? Seems heavy for a race-car type application, not a criticism just asking if its a possibility to reduce the weight while maintaining strength or crafting from aluminum plate and bolting instead of welding.

I have a tendency to over-build, especially when it's stuff like this where I want to eliminate as much floor movement as I can. That plate isn't as heavy as it may look. Your idea of a bolt-in aluminum plate may be a good one but the minor weight penalty isn't critical to me on this build. I appreciate your input - keep it coming!

I thought that part of the reason to use CV joints was that they don't need to be clocked?
@attheredbarn1669

Clocking them maximizes the angle at which the CV can safely operate. Perhaps not "required" but it's the optimal approach.

Thanks! There are some great on-line welding resources. Jody at Welding Tips & Tricks is one example. I've found it comes down to practice, (analyze and REALLY understand what worked/what didn't. Adjust as needed and ) practice, practice, practice! At this point, I'm an OK welder with a long way to go!
