Congratulations John on a great buck. I’ve been successfully hunting for 27 years and have never done any scent control before. You’ve made me realize that I haven’t maximized my hunting capabilities yet. I ordered the saddle hunter suit on the 40% off promotion. Going to give it a go next year. You’ve definitely sold me. P.S. I’m glad I’m not the only one who jams in the car on the way to hunt

Merry Christmas to you John. If only all the world would take just a few days out of the year to have a few kind words for everyone, including people who are not kind to them. As always you are an example to follow. Who else endures 32 hours of driving, twice, to seek out a great buck? Who else puts in the hours, the dedication and the discipline to outwit the wiliest prey animal in the USA? Best wishes for the New Year 2023 John, we’ll be watching and waiting for your adventures.

Merry Christmas!! Over time watching your videos, you have come to be one of my favorites. I have always hunted much like you. I have not hunted much in the last 5-6 years due to my business but, your videos have inspired me to start back up hunting public land. My first year as a saddle hunter (at 59) but very familiar. I am a certified arborist and have climbed trees for many years. Thanks for the videos, keep em coming! Stay safe.

Hey John I am sure you are not going to ever read this comment but I just had to tell u that I bought your Eberhart signature saddle this year and I switched to saddle hunting methods that I learned from your videos. Both of my tags were filled within six days of use of your saddle. I procrastinated and bought my saddle the last week of October, and took it out right as the rut began to go into full swing here in southern Michigan. I shot my first buck this season with my bow November 7th on my fourth saddle hunting expedition ever on state land. I followed that up with my best archery buck to date the following Saturday twenty minutes into my November 12th sit. Took your videos and gear to heart and I am the only guy in my friend group to tag out. Thanks again Mr. Eberhart, Im going to see if my wife will allow me to participate in one of your workshops because i want to meet you in person. Your my fellow Michigan hero. You have a spot occupied in my head only occupied by the likes of Peyton Manning. I hold you in such great esteem. Thank you. God bless merry Christmas and awesome video and harvest as usual. My next adventure is out of state since i have mastered the art of bowhunting state land pressure in Michigan nothing can stop me

Justin, that is a great read for me and thank you for actually putting some of my thoughts on bow hunting, into practice. You are aware that all I can do is put out information, It is up to hunters like you to have the work ethic and determination to put them into practice. Information is only as good as the person listening and willing to try it. Congratulations on 2 of many future bucks. Merry Christmas.

John, happy holidays and thank you for divulging all the wisdom you have worked hard to acquire over the years! I read 'Precision Bowhunting' through n through and even took notes in my hunting journal! I hunt primarily in southern Maine where there is a ton of pressure and with many of your lessons have been able to bow harvest some decent bucks this year. I applied my best version of activated carbon scent control and pre-scouted what I believe to be primary scrapes and rut staging areas like you describe in your book. I'm a believer now! Keep the videos coming! Best!

Hi Steve, I was using a 30-40 pound Mathew's VXR which is a fabulous bow as well. My new Image has a 40 year old PSE sight and quiver, QAD drop away rest, wrist strap, stabilizer on the bottom side of the riser, and am shooting Carbon Express 250's with Blazer vanes (had been shooting 3 fletch - 4 inch feathers for the past 54 years) with G5 - 3 blade - 100 grain - 1 3/8 inch cut fixed blade heads. I was on the Carbon Express pro staff for years and have about 10 dozen of those arrows, otherwise I would likely be shooting a thinner arrow. Merry Christmas Steve

John, How did you get your VXR down to 30-40 pounds draw weight? The specs I find online show nothing below 50 lbs draw. I am wondering if I could get a VXR and modify it like you did for any less money than buying a new Image. At 78 years of age, I don't know if I can justify the Image expense of an Image with the Matthews accessories. Brian T. Courtney

Busted racks means LOTS OF BUCKS. I HUNTED KANSAS TWICE. I saw at least a dozen eight points a day. All the tens were broken. Rifle then, was in December. Archery was about the only way to take a buck that wasn’t broken. Unlike Michigan, your lucky to see an eight point.

That is seriously funny Roger, yet very true, good to get some backup on just how many big bucks there are in some midwestern states. Yes, in Michigan a 100 inch 8 point is a keeper in some areas of the state. Good luck out there.
