This video is on; what foods I take on all day sits and how I package them to remain scent free, water consumption, and type of large throat bottles to pee in while on stand and of course I offer detailed reason for every one.
Also, I mention the proper bridge lengths to use on an Eberhart Signature Saddle per your waist size.
Lastly I mention what Eberhart Whitetail Workshops that I still have openings for.

I used to pee in a bottle. But that myth has been busted tons of times. I now pee from my saddle, haven't spooked a deer with my pee yet. I DO agree with noisy bottles, get a thicker one that doesn't crinkle and always pack food in zip locks as thier alot less noisy than the package food comes in. I like pop tarts! I do pretty much Everything you do john, except the bottle. But then again, I hunt private!

I have done similar things on packing my food for all day sits. The one thing I pack in colder weather is a 20oz yeti of hot green leaf tea to help warm up my insides, no caffeine that makes you pee and if you want add honey for flavor. This season I got in the habit of cubing cheese for a zip lock and packing in another zip lock triscuts crackers. Stainless steel container may weigh more but it will be cold water on hot sits and hot water on cold sits.

I take 2 ham sandwiches,a quart baggie of trail mix(one with mm and chocolate)and 3 granola bars. That is plenty for an all day sit. I always have trail mix any time I hunt. Yes one 20 oz bottle lasts all day. I never hunt all day till first of November. And if you really want to be comfortable I use a podium foot platform as a seat and a, it folds up and adjusts up and down according to pitch of tree. That’s cuts out 95% of movement. Only Superman can lean against a tree all day or part of a day without moving. Just my 2 cents worth of option.

If you have that many 5 and 1/2-year-old bucks where you hunt you are definitely not hunting in a heavily pressured area so keep peeing out of the tree that'll be fine where you hunt. Our DNR estimates that on public lands one out of every 100 antlered bucks is a 3 and 1/2-year-old so that is quite a difference.

Here is a reply to a reply that I thought I would share with everyone who pees from trees. Only a couple years ago I was hunting a location where there was a well used runway about 50 yards from my tree and it ran along the top edge of a bluff. I figured that if a buck was transitioning down it and winded something human oriented that the only way he could to continue in the same direction was to move farther away from the bluff, towards me and continue on. On a morning hunt I went over to the bluff runway and pissed in it and about an hour after daybreak a decent 110ish 8 point came down that runway, smelled my urine and spooked back about 80 yards from where he came from. He stood there and he had no option but to move over and continue and he did just that and passed within 12 yards of me. He wasn't a shooter for me, but it was pretty cool that my plan worked to perfection.

Always peeing out of my tree. Don't pee on branches. Keep the smell on the ground. I Start mock scrapes by peeing in them. Deer and all animals are drawn to the smell of urine. Its part of nature. Keeping the pee up in the tree and them getting a whiff of it will defiantly spook them. I guess it could serve as a hand warmer though on a cold day. :)

I do not pee from stands . It sucks taking a bottle , but it’s what I do. I just can’t take the chance … there isn’t enough mature bucks in the places I hunt to take any chances. When I was kid …. I had diarrhea one morning. My dad had put me in the stand , and his rule was no matter what… DO NOT LEAVE THE STAND until I return. Anyway i took a dump at the bottom of my tree…. Diarrea. Dad came back that morning and was like why ???! And I told him I couldn’t help it. Which was true …. He wasn’t mad per say but he knew what it meant. A deer wasn’t seen from that stand the rest of season. So it’s sort of burned in my mind…. I don’t use the bathroom in a hunting area period. If i do piss in the woods , I piss in a creek….. but I absolutely do not piss from the tree.

A little off topic but what do you think of breathing out of your nose(with mask on of course) vs breathing out of your mouth? My thought is there would be less of a chance of breath odor escaping where the mask covers the face nose breathing vs mouth breathing. breathing out of your nose is just good life advice for many reasons but most masks cannot eliminate odor fast enough to accommodate the volume and rate at which we breath to become odor free. even with activated carbon you would need a canister-respirator with a rather large setup to matter significantly. if you are trying to minimize your impact, i can hear the argument that you may bypass mouth odor by breathing through the nose but its just going to chase marginal gains which are real but very small. the deers nose is wildly sensitive and your sinus cavity will migrate mouth odor into your nose there probably is a reduction but its still worth a try even if if just lets you feel like you are doing absolutely everything you can.
