@@TheGrandmaster1 Back 20-25 years ago the top man for grip power and general arm power was WSM winner in 1998 named "Magnus Samuelsson" Magnus broke a man's hand via a fracture of the bone in the 1995 WSM prelims by gripping and pushing too hard during arm wrestling. Originally Magnus got his invite to the contest for being a world arm wrestling champ. His grip strength was legendary. The go-to proof for Magnus having the best grip of the 1990's includes his 2001 WSM finals with the Deadlift hold of a car. That one was all about grip power. Magnus is also one of only 4 men to close a Captains of Crush #4 Gripper. That's 400lbs of grip power in one hand by the way.

He's pulled at least 840 conventional. But also, take a conventional lifter and see how much they can pull sumo: it won't be magically higher. Sumo is his competition lift, so it gets more love, so its going to be higher. Still lifts more than most people his weight (or any wright) conventional.

There are multiple international powerlifting associations and each one has its own all time deadlift world record. The Eddie Hall deadlift was not done by powerlifting rules so powerlifting guys don't consider it an official world record even though it objectively is the highest amount of weight lifted from the floor to lockout using a standard barbell and plates.

yup its a powerlifting meet and basically WR in his weight class, federation probably, etc. Eddie Hall also used a deadlift suit, straps, etc. so its a slightly different lift. Eddie's lift basically was not a powerlifting deadlift, it was a strongman deadlift. Impressive as HELL ofc, just pointing out why theyre different and how docta deadlift set his WR

I’m not an expert but theoretically, reaching 1000 lbs seems very feasible, if he hasn’t already. A 50 lb increase represents a small (~5%) increase in this weight. It’s like adding 10 lbs to a 225 lift. Or is my logic flawed?

Yeah. Pretty pathetic... OH wait, this guy can walk around looking like a normal healthy dude at a healthy bodyweight, while Eddie weighed a shit ton more and had to sleep with an oxygen mask.
