Helpful, clear voice, close captioned (I'm deaf/severe to profound hearing loss), little or no ambient noise to interfere with voice, good ambient light to see. Subscribed. Thoughts-go pro on headband as you go through procedure so people can see what you did, use of a pointer(mag pickup/needle nose, etc) to id parts you are talking about immediately before starting procedure. im glad the video was helpful. yes i need to get a go pro or something of the nature. but remember at the time it ws bit hard to work with while working on the ground and not a lift and not having much space in the pcv area. the video is pretty straight forward as i did explain what to take off and link to video off taking off the iacv then after this video continues on to the point of taking off the pcv

hey great video. i need help. my duaghter has this same car... it starts ruff and dies when trying to accelerate. and stalls when you come to a stop. I have done the throttle position sensor, new distributor. new mas air flow. plugs cap rotor fuel filter i can not find the problem please help oh i also replaced the knock sensor. i am stumped and really need help. any idea.

do you still have a check engine light on ? if you do,need to check what codes it is.check for vacuum leaks, and it could also be injector seals too.check the timing chain,could also be bad injectors itself, or bad fuel pump

i dont think there is a code for pcv. i made this video just to show the location and how to do it. i forgot to add this to the idle air valve when i made the idle air valve control

HEY BUDDY, I have a question. I have a 99 Altima, I have a rough idle when the car is warm in gear and sitting at the light ,but in neutral it's fine, and it also cycles from 700-500 RPM. if i change the Idle Air Control Valve would this solve the problem?

it might solve it. but things to look for is when was it last tuned up?,is there any gasket leaks,does it have check engine light codes etc. before you start throwing parts at it. look at everything possible so your not wasting money

its hard to really say what is going on with your year/model without lookin at it. try to change the pcv itself. always start with the cheapest things first

Motor sport factory a week ago I had my engine replaced on my 2000 Altima which had a blown head gasket. Engine had 240,000 so that's the reason for replacing it rather then fix damaged engine. My problem now with new engine car is reving high @ start up. it takes 5 minutes for reving to get to normal rpm. Any idea what my problem is? thanks.

start with checking vacuum leaks, and intake gasket leaks, if you have a check engine light or stored codes check those as well.

How did you get the pcv hose off I can't get to it and my small needle nose pliers can't get to it should I start taking of coolant hoses.?

i was able to get it out with the coolant hose there. but if you are having tough time then yes take it out and replace that coolant hose thats in the way . i am planing to replacing on all the hoses. but im also planning to replace the whole intake manifold for more a performance one.

the filter housing has a seal in it. at the time of this video i just took it out and rtv around it.

how bad is the air blowing out. a little should be fine since there is moving parts ... i personally believe that all pcv valves should be replaced on cars when its due. i heard of nissan saying its not a maintenance item which i dont agree to it. do change it and see if it makes a difference

+Motorsport Factory its not bad at all it's just light air and squirts light oil by I read that it is suppose to do that or else it would blow the piston .and he my car wasn't maintenance before I bought it and ive only changed minor things and I am doing a trip to arizona from Los Angeles and I dont know if I should change the pcv valve before I go or after I come back .

thats good. also check plugs,wires, dist cap and rotor. check the vacuum hoses and anything you can for your trip. yes it is suppose to squirt out a little. when you have the cap off so no need to worry

when i got my new iacv it came wiht a metal gasket which was cool. part of my brand is making new gaskets. if you want i can start to provide the gasket myself soon

Yea but I’d like to take care of it soon. I think it’s causing my distributor o-ring to leak oil. I replaced distributor and it’s still leaking. How long till then and how much would you charge? I sent you an email too, is it ok to just use RTV?

@@StevenGbuh i dont see anything wrong with rtv. but check with autozone cause thats where i ended up getting mine and it came with metal gaskets... not sure how much i would charge. i have to find the right company to help make these. one problem i run into is just finding the right people to help make things

How'd u get the other end of the pcv hose off

Branndon n you mean the part on the pcv valve or the other end of it?.... if your referring to that other end,what i did was used a good size needle nose plier and worked my way in there. i ididnt feel like taking that one fat hose off to get to it. i will eventually do all the hoses. the hose was brittle so it broke off and the pcv was easier to take off. then the other end i had to shimmy the plier in there and get the clamp. i used a angled needle nose plier. i hope this answer helps you. any futher questions feel free to ask.

Yeah the end that stayed on when u cut it. That thing was making my life hell today lol the spring clamp is facing towards the engine block and I couldn't get anything in there to get to it, I thought to buy some angled pliers like u just said. I think that's the only way, there's so little space to work on that car. 😒 lol. I'll get the pliers and give it a try when I have time. Thanks for the reply !!

yeah no problem branndon. trust me it took me a while to make this video trying to figure out what to do to help everyone out. the angled needle nose was my only thing i had i can use. just make sure its not to thick of a needle nose. go to autozone and get them there. thats where i got mine. the shafts of the plier is just right to get into the narrow space. also forgot to mention that i used freeze off to spray some on the hose to let it soak on to the metal pipe to help it slide off better
