So glad you got this on the record. Shawn Ray has given back so much to this sport and it should never be overshadowed. I was one of the lucky recipients of his advice having broken bread with the man. I didn’t go far with competitive Bodybuilding but I live a good life because I didn’t chase the dragon and always held his business and life experience in high esteem. He is one of the few that looked to bring up those that wanted to accomplish something in the sport. But he never told you what you WANTED to hear but what you NEEDED to hear.

There was a time when I never liked Shawn Ray. I smiled every time I'd watch the Olympia in the 90's when he'd lose. But, as time went on, I actually grew to appreciate Shawn. I would read his articles and listen to him talk, and the man was/is right about a lot that he's talked about. And then the appreciation of his physique grew. Shawn had one of the best physiques ever, and in my eyes it's a physique which was deserving of at least one Olympia title. Shawn Ray is one of the greatest bodybuilders ever and on top of that a great ambassador for the sport. Awesome episode!

I know a lot of people don't care much for what he has to say, but I've always enjoyed listening to him because he's a straight shooter. Best podcast so far. I always liked Shawn. Amazing physique. No BS, no filter, tells it like it is and says what many are thinking out loud. Now we just need Levrone on the Cutler Cast. I always thought the best business minds in terms of success in the industry were Shawn, Levrone and Jay. All 3 still going strong in the industry to this day and they are in their early to late 50s. Very interesting to get insight and how you all pulled from each other and different people. This could have been 5 hours and I would have happily listened to it all. Great job to all 3 of you guys!

Probably one of the best episodes yet. Some might not like Shawn Ray (i personally do), but you need a voice like his to shake things up. He's so right about having the hard conversations. Shawn and I are the same age, and I've been a huge fan of his since the mid 80's. I remember videotaping an episode of American Muscle Magazine on ESPN when they covered his victory in The '87 National Championships. That posing routine to Jennifer Holidays , And I AM Telling You, Was Nothing Short of Incredible. Not only was he a Great Competitor; He's Also Educated, Articulate, and a Great Businessman. The people who don't like Shawn have the same problem that many others have who hate The Truth.
